Remember what Max B said "I write the hooks" I got the feeling the reason why artists say "I write the hooks" instead of say "I write the songs" because Legally under a gag clause: They are by law unable to say they wrote the song in question.

Hooks seems to be the escape hatch for people in the music industry who want to out someone who fukked them over.
