Maybe I missed it the study doesn't specify at what ages children stop being a risk. It briefly mentions a study that was done on pregnant women which yielded inconsistent results. And they need more data. Especially considering they higher concentrations of these chemicals in white kids who used body lotions compared to Hispanic, Black and Pacific Islanders....Yet Black kids had higher concentrations through using hair products.

Also, there wasn't a follow up beyond the 24 hrs period to see how much of the chemicals lingered in the children. Young children are more sensitive to carbon monoxide emissions and skin cancer from sun light but that doesn't mean we should be suspicious of ban traffic and parks.

"Cheaper products that are purchased from a dollar store instead of a higher end store are more likely to have product with higher levels of phthalates because it has likely been in a plastic tube for longer and potentially being subjected to higher heat, two issues that cause the chemicals to migrate at greater rates."

As usual, the best way to mitigate these types of issues is to avoid cheap or processed stuff. Go high end or use natural solutions when you can

Ain’t no one safe out here, dust boys finally caught a W
the study found no difference in the levels of the chemical in the urine of those who used “phthalate-free” products compared with those who did not.

I use Method lotion, but I’d assume it wouldn’t be a problem considering the brand.

:jbhmm:

We also have a jar of Lush body cream that comes in a carton.
