First let me start off that I've never been on a weightloss diet. I've been on weight gain diets, but never the reverse.

I also have a very high metabolism so I have a hard time putting weight on, so my weight-gain has been steady over ten years.

Anyway I am not overweight but I have a belly, and I want to get rid of it. It's not very big, obvs. But I want to know what is a good diet for someone who does not have any weight issues, just a small belly.

I'm looking to get back to the flat belly I had when I was 24.

Let me note I weigh about 106-110lbs (I say around because I don't weigh myself regularly haha).

What kind of diet do you do for bellyfat when you aren't overweight???

Also I do yoga pretty regularly.

First thing you have to do is unsubscribe from the notion that you can lose "belly" fat.

There's scientifically no way to spot-reduce or lose fat on one part of your body. Eating cleaner meals, more whole foods, and decreasing the number of calories you consume while burning more (exercise) is the only way you're going to lose the weight in a healthy, permanent manner.

Your body will reduce it's fat stores all over, which is why it's hard to notice certain "spots" getting smaller. But if you already have a low percentage of body fat (some of us think we do but we don't...most have a little extra flab somewhere), then your stomach should start showing results in no tme.

Your best bet is simple: Whole foods diet, reduce simple carbs / replace them with complex carbs, burn more calories than you consume by sticking to a good workout plan you can tailor yourself to suit your schedule, increase your protein intake and stay out of the mirror for a few months.

Google and good discretion is your best friend.

Your best bet when working out (note that you should be working your whole body not just your stomach) is when you do get to ab exercises, skip the crunches & situps and replace them with weighted stomach workouts, like weighted reverse crunches (on a machine), deadlifts, etc. As your body increses it's muscle mass, the rate at which you burn fat and your metabolism will increase. And doing the weight work on your stomach will ensure that once the fat melts away, your stomach isn't just flab. It'll be tight and toned.

#1 Exercises Guide! Over 300+ Free Exercise Videos And Guides! is a good place to start if you're lost.

(And just because you add muscle doesn't mean you'll bulk up like a guy, you don't have enough testosterone to do that naturally.)

the simple thing to remember when losing/gaining weight:

Calories in VS Calories out.

If you want to lose weight, you need to figure out your maintenance calories (google it). this is how many cals your body uses in a day (usually 2000-3000). then eat 500 calories less than this maintenance number. you will lose 1 lb per week.

You clearly aren't a nice person because you called me names and offered no help. I wanted a specific answer, not some textbook answer.

@yoyoyo1 not everyone is going to read my sticky :whoa: i appreciate the reference tho, but i try not to get into personal attacks here so let my folks live
@electric_fur atv is basically right

losing fat is all dependent on eating less calories than your body needs

IE if you needed 2000, youd need to eat 1500 etc

the smaller the deficit the more likely the weight lost will be fat however. if you have the patience to learn how to count your meals losing fat isnt difficult but it doesnt happen over night either.

the sticky mentioned has alot more detail and is pretty straightforward
