Royals isn't dissin' Hip-Hop culture as much it's dissin' Mainstream Rap, used by Capitalism to basic devolve real Hip-Hop into car, liquor and clothes commercials.

The song is basically Public Enemy were 16 yo's in 2013.
EDIT: Public Enemy is a bit much

Drake & Nicki Minaj aren't Hip-Hop, they aren't our allies.

YES ITS IS DISSING HIP HOP CULTURE AND IM NOT ABOUT TO TYPE WHY I'LL JUST QUOTE MYSELF :damn:

basically this cac bytch mentions all the things shown in hip hop videos...in the chorus and says "we dont care we not caught up in ur love affair"

But its not that...the song basically gives an overall message of "life being great without a care and not being caught up in the love affair of getting and chasing money and being so obsessed with it"

My gripe is the fact this bytch can easily come in and say all that bullshyt from the comfort of her white privilege.

Her people are used to owning and holding superiority in this country so she can easily dismiss these love affairs we have with money off as something thats "meh"

But she doesnt understand the black experience..she's foreign to it

She doesnt understand for centuries in this country we had nothing, owned nothing and basically knew nothing and it is just now that we have tasted freedom and are given some leeway to have some taste of monetary excellence

We are still fighting to balance the scales and being on equal footing with these cacs.....and this bytch wanna wonder why we're in this "love affair"

bytch we playing catch up...ur chilling off of centuries of white privilege

U damn rigth u cant understand our "love affair"

Was he on that ballin shyt? The most "ballin" lines was the few references referring to the advancements in his career.
Of 19 songs on his last album, I count 1 song which featured Rick Ross he had about 3 ballin lines on that and I think he quoted Juvenile on Practice.

That's like saying Outkast spits ballin rap because I can find 2 or 3 lines per 20 song album.

The fact that he can talk so freely about his life, his ballin ass life, without mentioning these activities on the regular is impressive.

You've said you listen to a lot of hip hop. Have you heard the new Drake song "Hold On, We're Going Home?"
I haven’t heard it yet! I'm so excited! I'm a big, big, big fan of Drake. I've been snapping up everything Drake's releasing. I think he's so smart. He exists in this perfect place between hip hop and this totally gooey, sentimental Marvin Gaye style. I think he's awesome.

:stopitslime:

What would you call his verse on songs like 'The Motto' or hooks like 'Money To Blow' ?
I was specifically talking about his albums, So Far Gone, Take Care and Thank me Later.

Not hooks on Birdman songs, even Bono might have to fukk around and spit ballin hooks if he's on a birdman song.

Forgot about the motto, since it's not on any of his original albums but add that as well.

Imo rapper or singers who wanna talk about their life should not censor it.
