Eventually a lot of these dudes end up in the same flat earth/fake moon landing/covid wasn't real/Holocaust didn't happen/black people aren't from Africa/etc hellscape because their brains are rotted from years of consuming bullshyt. The more time you spend reading or entertaining nonsense, the more it influences you thought process. And now the internet is deliberately designed to make this more likely by feeding you further bullshyt via the algorithms. I can't even click one tweet about tacos without "magically" seeing random taco tweets throughout the day....imagine what a twitter timeline would look like if you're constantly searching for flat earth bullshyt.

I think this applies to the ADOS/FBA shyt too because it's clearly a psyop whether brehs want to admit it or not. We got people downplaying Biggie now because of where his mom is from. Why would any of the guys tagged in that IG post want to talk to Jamar after this shyt. It was already posted but just a decade ago he was saying Kool Herc was the father of hip hop. Now it's a conspiracy.
Look. I agree LJ is an idiot. But true hip hop history is also important. To dismiss it is disrespectful af. And yes. I never liked the division when it comes to black people but honestly they perpetuate it more than us. I grew up around Caribbeans my whole life and the way they talk about American blacks always been crazy. shyt both me and my sister always been nice at dancing and they would refuse to believe we are American just cause we could dance. Lol. shyt wild af. Got called Yankees n all kinda shyt. Nah real history is important. This aint about LJ. This convo can be had without him.

It's an internet beef about a real thing. Noone says they care about the internet shyt but they prolly def DO care about being left out of the history books.

The people in the culture who make the rules arent leaving em out and thats all they care about...You think Kool Herc cares about nikkas on twitter with FBA flags in there profiles opinion of his legacy in hip hop lol

Oh I def know what you're talking about. We had some friends who were Nigerian and they used to always brag about how smart they were compared to black Americans like myself and my siblings. There was a massive spelling bee one year, with multiple schools participating. A team with me and some other black kids won it, with the (2nd gen) Nigerian kids coming in third place and boy were they pissed off and stunned.
:mjlol:

But I'm not gonna use my anecdote to assume all Nigerians act like that, or all of them think we're lazy or stupid.

I think the history and origin of hip hop should be studied and valued on an academic level, the same way we treat jazz. It's a uniquely American genre, like jazz. Yet the thing that weirds me out is we have no issue pointing out European influence on jazz (classical music) yet apparently admitting dub music influenced hip hop is blasphemy worthy of death? We got entire movements dedicated to pretending like Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Bambata etc no longer matter? What's going on here.

It’s easy stay away from each other

Why is that not option

That’s what’s being pushed right?

Leave each other alone don’t acknowledge each other

I found it interesting when so many was saying “oh sos and so should not be playing not like us by Kendrick”

I said damn all the streams should be just FBA playing it I guess

I would never say they no longer matter at all and I don't know what a$$hole would claim that. But the originators are all but being wiped out of history and we need that history to be told truthfully to preserve the integrity of what was built. U can't have cats like KRS One claiming to be the teacher and flat out ignoring the facts of hip hop's history let alone refusing to intelligently engage in discussion versus just making claims and calling people who don't believe them dumb.

A poster earlier mentioned King Charles and I never heard of him so I looked him up, and I came across this blog post about the history of hip-hop

To me it sounds like Jamaicans and Americans were intertwined at the creation

LJ is an idiot. But the fact people aren't willing to have this conversation and acting petty let's me know what time it is. If u REALLY care about hip hop the way yall say yall do. This should be an exciting conversation. Especially if true hip hop pioneers are being erased and left out of the fold.

It would definitely be an exciting conversation with people who don’t have 30+ years of making dumb ass statements.

People have had this talk for years, but we don’t want to see the idiots trying to initiate it. Chuck D and the FOI brothers got together with Professor X and other dudes like Wise Intelligent back in '98 and had a sit down about it and the state of Hip Hop. Common and YZ were there too. The talk has always had the right people in it. People don’t take LJ seriously. So nobody wants to hear from dude.
