Really you gonna name some of the biggest names from back then and say lord jamar didnt have the same presence as them.

SMH......The "biggest names"??......dude......This was the era when everyone was on the level.....You stuck in a 2014 mentality. Kane, KRS and G Rap were big names that never saw platinum. There's a video with Pac, Treach and Grand Puba on youtube where they are all freestyling...and guess who they were treating like the superstar of the room? Grand Puba..the one rapper who never saw platinum in a group or solo in contrast to Pac and Treach who did. Stop it.

I did a quick search & found these two immediately. Just because he wasn't out there in the mainstream doesn't mean he wasn't speaking out on issues. Also remember, from 93/94 on, the afrocentricity in hip hop was "played out" so people like Jamar weren't being focused on

SMH...U aint paying attention... Nothing u said has anything to do with my original statement. And I hate the way u are challenging me when I pointed out a fact.

My point is that Lord Jamar is making more noise in the 2010's concerning social issues then he ever did in the 90's. In the 90's Lord Jamar wasnt known for his "commenteries on issues" like he is in the 2010's...This is a fact...stop challenging me by going off topic. You can search youtube all u want....None of them 90's inteviews by Lord Jamar was making noise like the interviews he's doing now...THIS IS A FACT!!!

Obviously YOUR own point went over your head. You challenged that Jamar was barely speaking about social issues pre 2000's which I quickly showed you he was by posting 2 videos which flew over your head because your comprehension skills. I understood your point but totally disagree. From what I remember about him he always spoke on these kinds of things because he's a 5%'er. It's apart of his core beliefs which he's been consistent with. Just because he didn't have the media outlets like today doesn't mean he wasn't trying to spread knowledge & speak out. He's also older & trying to help the younger generation.

I never said that. Stop misquoting me. I said he's making more noise speaking on social issues now then he did in the 90's. Thats what I originally said and thats all I been saying. Misquote me again and this convo is over.

You lost me. I'm done homie....

This is what u said in post #17

You challenged that Jamar was barely speaking about social issues pre 2000's .

These are your words...Not mine.....

Never once did I say that. You made that up. For the umpteeth time.....I said that Jamar is making more noise now concerning social commentary then he ever did in the 90's. This is a fact. LOL...How many times must I repeat it slowpoke. Lord Jamar didnt have a reputation for "social commentary" in the 90's. Lord Jamar was the rapper with dreads from Brand Nubians in the 90's...That was his reputation.

Keep trying to move the goal post nikka. You know you implied it with your initial post then said it yourself.

No..the problem is that you misquoted me and then when I corrected you..you kept misquoting me instead of admitting that you just made a mistake. Dont make assumptions of implications just because you were wrong homie.

.I pointed out where you were wrong in post#17 for everyone to see and you still going in circles...you can have the last word cuz you keep deflecting from my original statement and its insulting.

Yeah....so like I was saying and like I keep saying. Lord Jamar is making more noise thru social commentary now then he ever did in the 90's. And this is a good thing. Now what he needs to do is take this momentum and churn out a few hits. That 5% album was so slept on and I felt he needed a platform to promote it....He now has a platform but where's the music?? he should take advantage because 90's rappers getting a second chance at 15 minutes of fame is rare and he got his.

Saw this a while back & Jamar's always on point. I wish more artists weren't afraid to speak their minds like him.

Most of these new artists have to worry about their "brands", corporate dikk sucking, and their pawg girlfriends. They cant and wont say anything that will ruffle the feathers of their masters

Who talking about record sales, you said nothin about sales you said visibility. Oh everyone was on the level of ice t and Luke who was all over nightline for being arrested after concerts for free speech. Everyone was on the level of the crazy midget who shot himself in the eye. Fast forward 5 years and grand puba was nowhere to be found while pac was a household name.
