interesting, but its Chris Broussard, so take it with a grain of salt. Harden is dope, but the fukk outta here with that, Westbrook>Harden easily. Harden has gotten overrated real fast.

I could be wrong but didn't OKC recently say they are going to attempt to try to sign Harden and Ibaka without regard for paying the luxury tax?

They definitely can sign both players since they both have Bird Rights, its just a matter of if they are willing to pay the luxury tax for the amount over the soft cap. Another factor is if they both want to remain in OKC, but that isn't a financial obstacle.

Oh yea that's true, I didn't know about that. But should both Harden and Ibaka get max deals? Wasn't Kevin Love's deal wack because it wasn't a max deal? So, I'm like I shouldn't they pay Harden or Ibaka or both the same type of deal or cheaper than the deal Love got?

That's what is so dumb about this CBA. OKC did such a great job of drafting really good players that unless they all take lesser deals than they could get, odds are they have to eventually move them. OKC gotta get Maynor, Harden, & Ibaka new deals but this CBA punishes you for drafting well.

Exactly, this okc team is not going to last long as is. They also paid perkins more money than he's worth. Durant and westbrook are being paid a lot of money. There is no way they can keep Harden and Ibaka. They are young and talented, their next contract is where they can make their money. Don't be surprised if both are gone.

I'm not a CBA expert but I have passed over the contract info and I understood it to reward teams for drafting well.

Due to the Bird Rights rules and no hard cap a team can technically sign any player it ever drafts to a "max" contract so long as they are willing/able to pay the luxury tax.

There is a rule that says only one player per team can be designated the "max" contract but I think that can be avoided by going just below the "max" to a point its not even significant.

I am under the impression that OKC could sign Harden, Ibaka, and Maynor to whatever contract they please. This would put them over the luxury tax limit (which I believe is $ for $ over the limit), and as long as they are willing to pay that there will be no problems. This also assumes all 3 want to return.

Am I off base somewhere :yeshrug:

They could sign them all but when the tax raises it becomes an issue. I don't know with OKC being a small market team if they would be willing to pay in the long run. Memphis is going through this right now with OJ Mayo, they can keep him but they are going to have to pay the tax because of Gay, Gasol, Randolph, & Conley's deals.

Gonna be a tough one tonight, Spurs are gonna be more tuned in.

Gotta keep up the pressure on the Defense and everything else will fall in place...Unless Brooks wants to fukk it up.
