a commentator can call any sport. the color men are the ones expected to be subject matter experts. marv albert's only role is to give viewers a description of what's going on. the subject matter expert, whether its a former football, baseball, or basketball player is the only person that should breaking down plays and telling viewers what went right and what went wrong.
Not true. Jim Nantz is fantastic at calling golf, but pretty bad at college basketball.
