I want to learn how to play "Hotel California" for a beautiful bytch on the beach :noah:

But in reality I know that it'll never happen :sadbron:

You could learn the chords probably fairly easily
Bm F#
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
A E
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
G D
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
Em
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
F#
I had to stop for the night

....but that solo is gonna be :merchant::huhldup:

and while we're talking about hard stuff...

First time I heard this song it blew my mind. I was like :wtf:

A non-guitar will never truly understand/appreciate how damn hard this is

I used to be 'ok' at guitar in high school, took a class. Taught myself a bunch of Jack Johnson songs. I haven't picked one up in about three years though, kicking myself for that. This makes me want to go get one...

You can use tabs, but learn ur chords FIRST, and try to learn scales. That's the most important part. Personally, I taught myself by looking up songs I like on the internet. Songs by The Eagles and other great bands that pretty used basic chordds.

Again dont buy anything too cheap. You'll only be making urself work backwards.

Don't buy anything too cheap, but don't go out and just drop a couple stacks on something too expensive either.

Practicing is important. If you find that you don't have time/patience, you don't want to have spent all that money.

Why Practice

Just switch "bass" with whatever instrument you desire.

one of the two thing i always wanted to do but never done it.
one was a kid/teen skateboard around NY.. never skateboarded never will and the other was play guitar my grandfather is great at it but i never really asked him to teach me.

i think i will eventually try it.

i do randomly have a ukelele though.
i been seeing this hipsert'ish/indie chick on and off for years and we usually always comes over on a thursday.. one night we were watching Blue Valentine and i said i was going to buy a ukulele but not being serious... next thursday i meet her and she has one for me :rudy: shyt is collecting dust in my apartment somewhere.

trying to learn guitar notes is brutal, tabs is way easier but the teacher keeps saying u gotta learn the notes

im having fun though

:pachaha:

yeah, trying to teach myself chords and progressions and shyt now... I play by ear and go to tabs if I hit a wall... but I really need to sit down and learn notes.

I have a fender. Had it six years and can pick out notes but still can't play for the life of me
