Could Cassidy be considered the most successful punchline rapper outside of Lloyd Banks and Fab?

this song is an example of Lil Wayne being this top notch lyricist? lol It's obviously we're probably 10-15 years separated in age because this shyt is not top tier lyricism. I remember when Wayne first started to get put over around 2008 with the Carter III and all of the teens and people in their early20s thought this man was God. I didn't get it then and I don't get it now. Yeah his beats were dope, but so were Group Home's, and we knew they were trash. Truthfully, some of these celebrities I've had conversations with about Wayne would say the same thing back then when I was on tour, now these SAME artists are acting like he's god. I don't want to put any names out cuz I don't know who's reading this shyt and will run to social media with it, but I remember having these conversations with groups of people and we were all like "what the fukk is up with this Lil Wayne shyt?" cuz dude was always considered hot garbage with Cash Money, then all of a sudden he went from that to this "best rapper" over night and I was dumbfounded.

For the record, we also knew guys like DMX weren't top tier lyricists either, we just liked his music and I think Lil Wanye makes dope music as well, but these "I'm a martian give me my space" punchlines just weren't that hot back then or even now. Personally, I think lyricistm today in music is overrated because only other rappers respect it. Fans don't give a fukk about that shyt anymore. But I never understood the Lil wayne hype considering that I've heard him on records before Cash money went national (military friends from Louisiana had those old cash money cds prior to 1998)

Luda was more than just a punchline rapper though, Cassidy was limited, if we throw Luda in there then Kiss is in front of all of them

By far, why I wanted to rank him high. Super versatile. I wouldn't put kiss in front of em but I would definitely throw him in there especially because he got a sudden huge push like 08/09 again which really helped imo
