Looking back, how did we think watching other ppl play video games wasn't going to blow?

People have always been watching others play games if you grew up with siblings in the 8 or 16 bit era. 2 controllers if you're lucky and that's hoping a game had co op back then.

Watching someone wreck shop at an arcade is vastly different than watching someone beat a single player campaign imo.

This. Nowadays you got people who would rather watch their favorite streamer beat a game, instead of playing it themselves.

This generation of gamers is different.

I never got into twitch but the "lets play" era of youtube was alright. Saved me some money if I was hesitant to buy a game or couldn't buy a game, I'd just watch it
