It was part luck no doubt, sometimes feuds just write themselves, it depends if the E can get out of their own way and let shyt happen naturally.

The problem they have is sometimes actually giving the ball to people when they're hot. They gotta get out of the mindset that the only way people can get over is only with their help. Some wrestlers connect with the crowd like Bryan, Cesaro, the Shield, the Wyatts and Punk and the crowd goes apeshyt for them, but in their eyes, they think that the wrestler hasn't earned it yet. That's why ADR and others have bombed, the E thinks they're over with the crowd and that they earned their spot, but in reality, they were given a free spot on the top of the card.

Look at how the crowd turned on Batista, he waltzed in and was given his spot over Punk and Bryan. Punk left, Bryan stayed and they're still the most over in the company while Tista and Orton get booed, or get a random ass chant thrown in their direction, or no reaction, cause the crowd doesn't care bout them. Cena's case is that they're tired of the same shyt, but the 'E ain't gonna alter his character cause he's a money maker to kids and women even though adults and smarks don't like him.
I agree, I remember years ago on commentary when Cena used to come out Jim Ross used to say "Cena is the most controversal champion of the WWE" and I was always like ":stopitslime:C'Mon son! Ain't nothing controversal bout him".... now years later today I'm like ":ohhh:You know I see it now... this nikka in the smarks eyes just won't die and make them feel some type of way"

That's what was so fukking crazy about shyt, they foreshadowed their shyt without even knowing it, and they're indirectly the cause of it thinking Cena was what the people want and fed him down everybody's throat.

That same happened with Punk after the "pipebomb" everybody was going nuts and in the E's eyes, if you're the guy, you gotta do the same shyt that Cena does and they started to neuter his character lil by lil until he was moodier version of Cena when in reality, you can be your own dude and be marketed to different crowds. Cena, Sheamus, and Bryan are for the kids and Punk, Bryan and the others are for the older crowd.

Hopefully when Bryan finally gets the ball, they stay out of his way and don't mess with his character. He can appeal to both kids and smarks alike, but don't try to turn him into a Cena clone.

The real foreshadowing of Cena was at WrestleMania 22 was when Jim Ross (by the way the only from this point that actually does his job well) was letting nikkas know bluntly "Hey guys we're ready for the main event but just to let yall know we're in Chicago a wrestling mark's town so you at home might hear HHH get cheered cause he's more tradition based while Cena will get boos cause he's more fukkery based... don't adjust your sets." That kinda went over my head when he said that but after that "Project Hijack" fiasco last week on Raw it's funny to me now JR was the only on-screen character talking about Cena's downfall... crowd popularity-wise of course.

the funny part about it was how it buzzed beyond wrestling and so many former fans tuned in to see it...and while the smarks were :ohhh:at the promo..all those former/casual fans were just kinda ehhhh about it and looked at it as another promo that didnt stick out at all.

i was hyping that shyt up and then someone would pull it up on youtube and say wtf is this lil nikka trying to say right now :stopitslime:

It was a great promo but these kind of promos can get old quick and lose their impact if done too often. These all out shoot promos should be rare.
people who watched during the attitude era look at this as tame since someone was always bucking the system back then. they are desensitized to this kind of stuff.

we are all smarks here but keep in mind, women and children matter too.... especially kids.... because we were all kids more then likely when we started watching wrestling, very few people who missed out on wrestling as a kid will start watching it as adults and if they do, it's the attitude era edgy stuff... so you need your cenas...i always think a nice mix to satisfy everybody is best.... Daniel Bryan will get his pay off...WWE knows what it's doing....i hope

It wasn't so much foreshadowing, but him talking about what was going on then.
