Looking at Leo’s filmography, how is he not the GOAT.

The beach or whatever was his only misstep and that was when he was trying to figure out his career after being labeled a teeny bopper guy for titanic
And even that isn't a bad movie just very mediocre.
And really he had a huge female following after Titanic and could have eaten real good off of rom coms for at least a decade. But he was like nah, I'm strictly doing quality. I applaud him for that.

1. Despite being good he's never been best in any movie he's been in except maybe Django
2. He doesn't take chances with roles
3. He's one note - a great yelling tantrum throwing white guy but he seldom tries being subtle/chooses roles to avoid having to be subtle
4. Has no classic characters outside of Jack in Titantic

Dude is good but he has his own lane. He's not even in the top 50 living actors, let alone the GOAT. You could maybe even find 50 Leo co-stars that are better than him but tbh he works with some of the best people

:manny:
I bet they won't call you a Leo hater for this:mjlit:
I said guys his age or younger. Denzel is not that and is definitely better. Along with Newman, Redford, DeNiro, Pacino, Penn, Jeff Bridges, Day Lewis, shyt even guys like Gary Oldman, Richard Gere, Cruise, Robin Williams, John Tuturro, Kietel, Matt Dillon, Fishburne etc.
He is not on their level but he is also 10 years younger than them. So think of guys his age and younger. He just shows how huge the fall off has been in American acting. He's the last of a dying breed really.
I'll start off easy and use one of his co-stars in the upcoming Manson movie. Do you think Leo could pull off Brad Pitt's role in Fight Club or even his role in Burn After Reading? How about Snatch?

another reason why he's one of the goats

he coulda phoned it in for years but chose legit rolls

still pissed that jonny depp sold out and just went with pirates and mostly trash.

after donnie brasco, blow etc etc he coulda been the easy goat

But Brad Pitt is 11 years older, he doesn't fit the criteria I laid out but sure I'll play along.
Fight Club definitely the other two probably not. But zany and deprecating characters that require comedic elements isn't his lane he likes to play more respectable men driven to extreme emotion. I don't think Pitt could do Revolutionary Road, Basketball Diaries or The Aviator. Pitt isn't good with roles that require convincing real life sincerity. They are both good looking guys but have different skill sets. And I think Leo is better at what he does in comparison. :yeshrug:

I’m not proclaiming him the GOAT I could def see him pulling off that gypsy shyt in snatch and what did Pitt do that was so hard to match recapture or exceed in BAR? I saw the movie but I thought he was just alright

WOWS was a tour de force,

Gilbert Grape might be his top stuff acting wise but let's not kid ourselves about Django and Wolf of Wall Street. Those roles are so well written and the movies so well directed that dozens of actors in his age range could've pulled off a performance like him, if not better.

I misread Brad's age, my bad. Javier Bardem is 6 yrs older. You think Leo could instill the level of fear, with little to no words spoken, that Anton Chigurh did in No Country For Old Men? Do you think Leo could pull off a white version of Stringer Bell (Idris is 45)? Could you see Leo starring in Bronson(Tom Hardy is 40)? Could you see Leo as Magneto(Fassbender is 41)? Could he pull off Jake Gyllenhaal's role in Nightcrawler(he's 37, btw)? Could Leo pull off Rust Cohle(McConaughey is 48)? I can really keep going if the parameters are merely age(of course I can see this heading towards only including actors who are exactly 43yrs old:mjlol:). I was going off actors in his generation; dudes that were in their prime, headlining movies, when he was, since I dont think acting is some athletic skill that wanes or increases with age.

Pitt in Se7en alone let's me know he could pull off any of Leo's "driven" roles, tbh. I saw him play calm and collected until he actually had to show emotion which made that emotion actually resonate. He has more roles like that, too.

He was subtlety stupid. Emphasis on subtle. Even Leo's somewhat comedic roles call for him having random outbursts. Dude is the epitome of 0-100, but great acting is found in the 2-99 range and he's extremely uneven when it comes to that:yeshrug:

Like I said he knows his lane.
To all the actors you pointed out, Leo would never do shytty movies like:
Javier Bardem: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Counselor, Eat Pray Love :mjlol:
Idris Elba: Dark Tower, No Good Deed, Prometheus
Tom Hardy: Lawless, Sucker Punch, RockNRolla, Plus they been in a couple of movies together and guess who got the lead part both times?
Michael Fassbender: The Snowman, Song to Song, Assasin's Creed
Jake Gylelenhaal: Love & Other Drugs, Prince of Persia, Moonlight Mile
Matthew McConaughey: Ghost of Other Girlfriends :gucci:Failure To Launch :what:, Surfer, Dude:heh:

AND any of these guys would not get any lead role over Leo they would all be his co-stars. :sas1: Ask Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Hardy. lol

What do their bad movies have to do with my point of Leo not being able to duplicate their great performances? I literally already addressed the point of Leo being in great movies versus him having great performances. As far as knowing his lane: he's an actor, he's not supposed to have a lane. That's the whole point of acting, if you're doing it at a high level.
