The specs aren't really comparable apples to apples. Apple machines always outperform their specs compared to pc's but they still are overpriced, and you don't need the extra power considering what you plan to use the laptop for.

Yea thats kinda what I figured.

Also .. this is the reply I got before my confirmation for purchase ..

Newegg tests Open Box products for basic functionality only.
Due to the varying quality of products returned to Newegg, YOU ARE TAKING A RISK BUYING OPEN BOX PRODUCTS.
Newegg makes every attempt to supply the original accessories for Open Box products. However, regardless of what the product description says, Newegg only guarantees that you will receive the product itself; accessories may or may not be included. Bear in mind that your open box product may not contain cables, adaptors, manuals, CDs, drivers, fans, etc. Additionally, the product may exhibit cosmetic imperfections as a result of its having been previously opened.

Newegg will not send you any missing accessory, even if the accessory is required in order to properly make use of all the product’s advertised functions.

While Newegg does not like to discourage sales, please purchase open box products only if you know how to deal with potential missing accessories.

No reason to think twice .. right .. right? :dwillhuh:

Nah that's just a general disclaimer. There shouldn't be any accessories included with a laptop anyway. The only thing you could be missing is a recovery disc, but most laptops have you make them yourself once you boot up. I've never gotten a damaged item from newegg and you can always send it back if it shows up looking messed up.

@Trust Me
how did it turn out for you?

Laptops an animal. I'm loving it. I appreciate that help breh. It was actually for my ole lady, and like I said... its a beast. It does everything she wants to do and then some. I remembered someone saying they were thinking about copping it too, but right after my order was placed .. the 'no longer in stock' came out.

:sadcam:

Kinda felt bad for whoever wanted it too.

HP is always rated bad. But I swear I got a hp/compaq desktop that's still going strong after 10 years. I haven't upgraded it or fixed it once. I just use it to download torrents and check for virus's before moving them to my new PC. It's gone through countless virus's and restores and it's still works like new.

sounds about right must have been a desktop made before/close to the merger, HP started to turn to shyt once they switched to compaq hardware, became cheaper and cheaper over teh years
