Oh dear. Some people at a Halloween office party in Kentucky didn’t get the memo we are an über politically correct country gone mad.
Three employees at Jennie Stuart Medical Center offended the powers that be with their group costume entry: A beaming President Obama wearing a straightjacket and escorted by two policemen.
Cute, if you aren’t the type to be offended by masked rodeo clowns and all.
Result: Third place in the costume contest.
Prize: All 750 employees have been ordered to undergo mandatory diversity training.
And that’s not all: The staff has been asked not to wear “ethnic or political costumes next year,” WZTV Fox 17 News reported
According to the station:
A picture of a Jennie Stuart Medical Center employee wearing a President Barack Obama mask and straitjacket at the hospital’s annual costume party has stirred debate.
Along with the costume (pictured above), a skit called “VIP Special Delivery” was performed, winning the group third place in the costume contest.
As a result, all 750 employees have now been required to take diversity training.
The VP of Human Resources at the medical center issued a statement to staff apologizing for anyone who was offended and personally took responsibility since the incident occurred on his watch.
He asked that employees refrain from political, religious, ethic and gender based costumes at other functions.
Yes, it’s come to this.
