In the book that was released during this coronation , he wrote that the people who put you on pedestals can remove you when you publicly split from their stances. In writing that, he predicted his fall from academia/publishing/media darling that would occur decades later.
He had a falling out with President Obama, and the gatekeepers who propped him up in the 1990s pulled their backing from him. He's been on the outside looking in ever since.
I generally like Dr. West, but he was hurt by the chair being pulled from under him and has courted support and backing from those he stands directly in opposition to, just to strike back at his former supporters.

And sadly a lot of folks are starting to see what it really is. Instead of the reaction to losing their most loyal voting base being, "Hey, why are we losing the votes of black folks? What can we offer them and how can we reprioritize them to make sure they feel heard and continue to feel like a cherished member of our party?" We get something along the lines of
"Darkie, you want to think for yourself and don't want to give us free votes? Get out of this country you idiot! MLK would be ashamed of you!"
This is why they are replacing blacks with Latinos. They are tired of having to dance around the reparations question and they feel like actually giving blacks something would anger other 'allies' to the point of not voting for them, and hence they deem negroes expendable and in need of replacing. This is why they are starting to talk so crazy.
