I thought this fight was hella boring and not the fight I wanted to see out of Loma. Lopez deserved this win, willing that last round was eliminating any doubt of a draw for me. Loma has no one to blame but himself and his team because he could've won rounds had he actually pressed some. Especially the first two to three.

Letting rounds go to the judges (and I still cant believe how these judges scored it) for his slow strategy? Did he think by round 5 a KO was guaranteed? I'm really amazed at when he decided to turn it up. Letting points go in toss up rounds was not going to cut it.

Lomas too small for 135, while he did have the apparent skill advantage you can tell he was never comfortable with the ring cuts and couldn't figure out how to get close without getting hooked. He's also too slow to have such a reach disadvantage, if he wasn't built badly i think he takes that one. Hats off to Lopez for getting in the ring with the supposed boogie man

Idk bro, if he really had such a huge skill advantage he would be able to close the gap and deal with Lopez cutting off the ring.

I aint ever been that high on Loma though, he kind of confirmed to me tonight what I already knew and have said before that he don't know how to fight on the backfoot at all.

Good, solid fight. Lopez a star.

Loma is great but not no damn P4P #1. I doubt Crawford would lose half the fight of any fight in such a manner.

I'll give Crawford that much, he would of at least tried to mount an offense in the first half of the fight probably would of ate a lot of leather too but he would of at least tried.

Damn, I'm team Loma so I'm disappointed but the best man won. There were several rounds that were a toss up to me so I gave out two 10-10 rounds for the 2nd and the 6th and overall I had Lopez with clear 6 rounds and Loma with 4 so my scorecard was 114-116 but I'd say it could for from draw to 112-116 and that would be a fair assessment to the fight. I do think the official scores from the judges were too wide because plenty of Lopez shots were blocked or parried and also because the second half clearly had Loma on the front foot catching Lopez more often than not but maybe they thought Loma's punches werent significant enough.

Anyway, Loma started slow as expected but took too much time to solve Lopez. I thought he would be going on by round 4 but it kinda started in round 7/8 which was waaay too late. Lopez is an excellent boxer and I thought the odds for the fight should have been closed than it was. I like how he established his own pace and jab in the beginning to put Loma at a distance but most importantly that he was not trying to counter with his lazy should roll. He probably got too comfy and abandon that gameplan that made Loma gun shy which gave Loma opportunities to ramp up his own offense. At some point during the 11th, I thought he was in bad predicament because of that but he proved me wrong as he came back hard in the 12th to seal the W. That 12th round also proved that Loma had many reasons to be gun shy too, I liked that he tried to go for the W through returning fire but he opened himself up too much. I think he should have stayed at the same intensity he had in the 11th which was a good balance, he most likely tried to go for the KD because he was trailing behind too much which is understanble a tactic.

I think the fight showed it that Lopez is the real deal and that he is very powerful at 135 as Loma was not that wary against the other 135ers he fought. He's still very young and I'm sure he'll most likely move up at 140 or even 147 ultimately but I do hope he goes for the undisputed title against Haney first (probably when crowds are back though). I would like that fight because that Loma W did expose some flaws as it showed that he doesn't like to be on the back foot and his footwork is a bit slow and heavy (or maybe it was just the constrast with Loma). I think he'll needs to improve on that because Haney is as big and fast as Lopez but I like his movement better so that would be a great fight in that regard.

For Loma, I think he still has plenty of stuff to do at 135 (Haney is a bad matchup but is also a shot at a belt but I don't think he'll give it to Loma now) but as expected considering his frame, 135 is his ceiling. It was obvious because he won but not easily against the Linares, Pedraza or Campbell and that jump to 135 made him more susceptible to be touched. I'm sure the stats shows that he's way more touched at 135 then he was at 130 or 126. I'd say he could fight Commey or Davis to stay high in the rankings but having no belt will most likely not make him desirable enough. He could go back to 130 eventually and fight Berchelt, LSC or Diaz (I wanted him to be undisputed before moving up) but he's kind of in a bad place right now.
