Is this who some in here feel could be better than NFL refs?
:russ:

Some of these guys may called games I played in!!!!

Referee Craig Ochoa: 8 years division 1, 16 years division 3, 12 years other professional leagues. No specifics on what other leagues

Umpire Timothy Morris: 16 years Division 1, 5 years Division 2, 2 years Division 3, 6 years other pro leagues

Head linesman Kevin Akin: 6 years Division 2, 2 years in other pro leagues

Line judge Esteban Garza: 1 year Division 3, 1 year other pro leagues.

Field judge Rusty Spindel: 25 years Division 1, 15 years other professional leagues.

Anyone have any idea what these other "pro" leagues are?

Some of These dudes probably never called a game without looking at their wristwatches.

This is going to affect the game, without question.

The Replacement Ref Who Worked The Hall Of Fame Game May Have Been Dismissed From The Lingerie Football League
Regarding Craig Ochoa, for example, who served as the referee during the Hall of Fame game, Mike Pereira says that the league has trumped up Ochoa's experience level.

"They've tried to say that Craig Ochoa . . . was a BCS official, that he worked in the Big Ten. He didn't work in the Big Ten. He's not been a major college official. I don't think the NFL is going to say that he actually got released midway through the last Lingerie Football League season as a referee. I don't think the league is going to put that out. The league wants as little out as possible. They don't want people talking about it. They don't want me talking about it."

We at Deadspin cover a lot of ramshackle football leagues—the Arena, Indoor, and United States leagues come to mind—but none of them seems as ramshackle as the Lingerie Football League. This outfit has 12 teams playing seven-on-seven in small venues throughout this great land.* A handful of the games air on MTV2. The league sends us a lot of silly press releases (and they're silly even by press-release standards). So we're pretty certain the quality of football played there is not great.

*Correction: The LFL had all that. No longer. They're on hiatus in the U.S. until 2013, but they're still playing games in Canada and on a world tour.

What significance does this carry for NFL fans? We'll let Florio explain:

And Ochoa (who isn't the man pictured above) was the replacement ref the NFL chose for its big public splash on Sunday night. The ace. The "don't worry, everything will be all right" guy. As we wrote yesterday, they had a miserable outing. That doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the other 15 crews the NFL plans to call on. And we're certainly not excited about gambling in games reffed by these officials.

As for the veracity of Pereira's claim, we've put in a request to the Lingerie Football League and haven't yet heard back. We too wonder what could get one dismissed from that league. Maybe he asked if he too could work in his underwear?

The players already clowning them.

Players for the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals said the mistakes made by the replacement officials working the Hall of Fame Game were so numerous, players began mocking them, CBSSports.com reported Monday.
Players noted that not a single, non-special teams holding penalty was called. 's unusual for the first preseason game of the year. Players said officials forgot to move the marker after a 3-yard loss. After an incomplete it should have been third-and-13 but the marker showed third-and-10. Also, players claimed holding was called on a Saints punt play, and it took the officials four attempts to correctly spot the football.
"We were all laughing on the sidelines at how clueless they were," one player told CBSSports.com.
Players say they began mocking the officials, and the players said the officials argued among themselves.

Wow @ the mistakes but let's not act like the regular refs don't constantly have costly errors either. The "professional" refs want to call out and list mistakes the replacement refs did but if a player or coach says that they made a mistake then they are fined 20,000 for it. I hope if they take this route that for now on we will get a list of "professional" ref mistakes weekly.

All mistakes are not the same as you're attempting to make it seem. The worst part are the NON CALLS that will take place. Let a Greg Williams ass coach take advantage of it.....
