OK, I'm not good with numbers but how does something decline 500%?

if there were 1000 people online and then it went down to 10 that's a 99.9% decrease. Almost zero people and it's not even at 100%

Increase/decrease?? let's say SOHH had 2500 users on monday, then traffic decreased by 100 on tuesday, but on wednesday there's a further 500 people that didn't log in to SOHH. While the the 100 user decrease is only 4% of the initial 2500 users that logged in on monday, the decrease in traffic from tuesday to wednesday is 5x more than the decrease from monday to tuesday, hence a "500%" decrease in traffic from tuesday to wednesday compared to monday to tuesday.
