After seeing this video I kinda feel sorry for him.

You can tell he was really happy to be there working with Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero, and Saturn and was advocating hard for them.

He must’ve been crushed when they didn’t call him. He just wasn’t near their level in talent though. Harsh realities.

Shane Douglas was a horrible wrestler. He had a good run considering his programs and matches.

Shane was top ten in fukking up the bag

yes Dean Douglas was trash but he could of stuck it out some

Paul booked him as his flair but he was always just average worker

and he had a ton of injuries and was really breaking down

but looking back Shane as a mouthpiece would of worked

I think if Shane really had returned to WWE, he would’ve at worst been purposely put in goofy ass segments designed to embarrass him, or at best been eventually put in a non-wrestling role that utilized him as a mouthpiece (i.e. commentary like Tazz or Lawler)

I don’t know if it was before he returned to WCW…y’all remind me…but Shane said at one point he was vetted by WWF to come back and he might’ve had they didn’t try to lowball him with their offer

Shane Douglas was already broken down when he went back to WCW
After the year long injury in ecw it’s was a wrap for him
So he would not have anything of merit in the wwe at that time considering all the guys they had

OMG I’m looking at old Nitros after he debuted and 3 weeks in a row, Douglas ran out completely mis-timed with the rest of them. 2 weeks in a row he ran out after Malenko, Benoit, and Saturn cleared the ring and stood there next to them looking like this.

Then he ran out way early before them and had to wait at the ring apron for the rest of them to run out.

This is so cringe. I think they never wanted anything to do with him and were letting it be known.

i liked his ecw run post wwf up until he had the world title for a year while he was injured

he had no business coming back to tna in 09 to feud with daniels when he was flabby and sick :flabbynsick:

Shane is like Bruiser Brody but lacking the aura, the talent, the business mind, the fanbase, the built, the hair, the feuds, the financial stability, the promoters wanting him dead but wanting to die from laughter at him.

He spoke from the heart and had the mindset of most old school wrasslin heads, but he just failed to capitalize anything other than being just a fukking bum:yeshrug:

The breaks:francis:
