I had high hopes for Weeden too but after watching this dude stare Massaquoi down on every throw like it was Blackmon vs a Division 2 corner, I had to fall back. And SMH at Colt McCoy now being the young backup. They need to call up VY

:beli: its only been one game. Defenses always gel faster than offenses.

Besides if we dont see enough progress with him, the new ownership,gm, and more than likely hc wont hesitate to draft their own qb ala matt barkley.

But lets give the man more than four quarters:shaq2:

Is that why we saw historic offensive performances following the lockout shortened off season? :usure:

sorry it had to be cleveland (because the fans deserve better).

but, as it relates to this season, they fukked up by hiring brad childress as the OC, imo.

this was the same dude that had fallouts with all of his qb's and was responsible for getting owens and moss kicked-off their respective teams. he cut marcus robinson on christmas eve and had numerous other incidents with players such as culpepper, matt birk, troy williamson and percy harvin. he's an egotist, an egg-head and very vindictive.

most importantly, the same guy that wouldn't allow his qb's to audible out of plays - after some time, the qb's were allowed to audible only the direction of the called play and that was it. they couldn't change to a different play nor were they allowed to audible from run to pass and vice versa.

he reels in his qb's so much that they become apprehensive and gun-shy. they become afraid to make any mistakes, which ironically, is the mind-set that causes them to make more mistakes than if they were to proceed with the mind-set of going out there to make plays.

this is why he had a huge problem with johnson, jackson, frerotte, rosenfels and eventually, favre.

he runs a stale and watered-down version of the WC offense. he believes that no matter what play is called, if every player executes the play properly, then the play will be successful - not taking into account that defenses have advanced so much and to a degree that certain defensive schemes
will not allow for the success of particular offensive plays, regardless of the execution of the play (which is why he is often out-schemed).

he's hard-headed and stubborn, cleveland fans - i'm sorry to say, don't expect your offense to be fluid and adaptive, because it's not going to happen as long as he's the OC and if he has any say on the matter.

Honestly not surprised, if you watched okie state games, weeden threw his fair share of ints.

The Richardson pick is worse IMO

We will beat Cincy this weekend and Weeden will redeem himself. Weeden wasn't the only qb that played like shyt(Vick and Stafford).

How bout yall nikkas worry about ya own teams instead of shyttin on the Browns. Talkin bout how we fukked up our draft after just one game. :shaq2: GTFOH :pacspit:

:beli: the bengals defense is much better than the eagles, yall bums might not even score more than 1 touchdown on them.

In Dallas, From Cleveland
I felt like picking Weeden was a knee jerk reaction to Washington moving up and snatching RG3. After thinking about getting RG3 it was kind of sad to think about going back to Colt McCoy..

I just knew Cleveland was gonna get a RB & WR combo with those 2 1st rd picks and grab some OL in the rest of the draft... but no

Even if Weeden was better who the hell is suppose to throw to? It was still too high for a player with such a short shelf life.
I was all for them snatching up Russell Wilson later in the draft

I think Colt would have been okay if they would have gotten either Stephen Hill or Alshon Jeffery who both still on the board when the picked in the 2nd round.

:snoop: Browns just can't get right. At least my uncles and cousins got to enjoy Bernie Kosar, Kevin Mack, Ozzie Newsome, Webster Slaughter, Minnefield & Dixon at the corners, The OG Clay Matthews....

I should known when they picked Tim Couch that it was gonna be all bad...
