Eh, I didn't claim he have to be great. I made a remark about the first song I listened to.
It so happend to be a song called "I am the greatest" on which he did nothing to back it up while biting the flow (without even bringing his own flavor to it) of the hottest rapper atm.
That is lame. If you are a rapper and wanna call yourself the the greatest and claims to "be on his Big L braggadocios rap shyt" at lest try to show it.
Big L could brag but did it with out biting while still maintaining a high skill level in his raps.
This was just
(I, am the greatest)
fukk 'em all I'll never love 'em, I'm way up
bytch you know I been above 'em, I stay up
Steppin' to me tryna talk it out
Knowin' goddamn well there ain't a fukkin' thing to talk about
Hol' up, bring it back now
That ain't no way to react now
You was talkin' all that shyt but where it's at now
Huh? Where it's at
BARS
Say what you want about Drakes music and ghostwriters but at lest he is slick with his bragging.
And while Drake might be the biggest biter out there at the moment, he will try to hide it or bring some kind of new flavor to it.
Logic on the other hand don't even try to hide it. All that was missing was a shout out to Drake.
Now that I think about it. This actually could be a throw away reference track Logic made for Drake
