Yo I wasted money last night straight up, Coulda waited 12 hours
To be honest I ain't even mad at URL for dropping the officials early.
They want to take views away from the bootlegs. It really is necessarily these days with how quickly copies of the stream come out. Gotta fight fire with fire
It was fun watching the event live, for me anyway. I still don't mind spending a few bucks on it. Just wish they were more organized

This battle was the first time I've seen Clips visibly rattled. Clips was angry and very emotional. A rare look for Charlie

Yea lots of great lines from both. I got Clips 2-1 because I thought his 3rd wasn't as bad as mos (that anger and aggression with the bars was A1).
Then again, if Lux had an extra 2 minutes to rap I mighta thought different.
So I fell back on posting in the update thread and let this battle sink in. Also wanted to let the fair weather forum traffic die down so some half decent discussion can be had.
I had a few observations/opinions that maybe aren't going to be popular, but I think are worth saying. Oh, I should warn the trolls and idiots.. This post is going to say positive and negative things about BOTH rappers because that's what TBZ's quality posters do.
1. A lot of folks are saying Clips was rattled in the 3rd and broke down. I actually thought that aggression he put into that round gave it a little more power. The early freestyles were not great, but the meat of the round was good and delivered by a Clips that actually seemed to give a fukk (isn't that what we wanted?). The Lions Den/Ice thing was dope and the backward/forward thing was dope because of his flow.
2. Lux first round was a display of lyrical ability that will grow on you on cam. It may not change your vote, but it will make more sense why so many are saying his shyt went over heads. That said, that round was Lux showing off expert footwork, endurance, agility but never going for a knockout... and that's why there's a large number of folks giving Clips the first.
3. Clips started off his first round with 8 excuse bars.:clips:That said, his first was a focused Clips round, like it or not. For you real battlerap fans, however, this round is not going to have much staying power. You've probably already done a rewatch or two where you're noticing it.
4. I'm not cool with Lux being awarded that third round because of a paperwork antic. That isn't a display of battling ability to me. It's entertainment, it was personal, and that's ok, but it will never decide a round for me -- it wasn't battle rap. That said, I'm having a tough time on which third was better. Paperwork aside, Lux did some rapping in that round and he got very personal.
5. Lux worked in 2 bar rebuttal about Clips' t-shirt and nikkas are falling all over themselves about "Lux freestyle ability" (and that phrase showed up in the big thread a few times). It was two fukking bars about a shirt. It wasn't a showstopper, it was just different.
I haven't picked a winner. Something about the battle seems off, probably that there was NO way for it to live up to the hype. I might weigh in with that later, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Finally watched it a 2nd time and I change my original Lux 2-1 to Lux 3-0.
The gap between these 2 nikkas lyrically IS WAY TOO WIDE for me to ignore. Clips bars are still predictable af or they just come off very elementary after listening to Lux rap.

Lol its pretty much like comparing Loaded Lux bars to DNA. DN freaking A.
But FWIW, Clips could probably battle RAP the same way he was rapping as he mimicked Lux in the 2nd round, he obviously chooses not to. Its insanely harder to construct quality bars that require cadence, rhythm and flow.
Loaded Lux "bytching" about the coin toss and all that = taking control of the situation = Clips trying to go straight into his round freestyling without a coin toss

That's exactly how I feel. Lux makes top tier nikkaz look unpolished by comparison. I gave Clips the first, but after the hype dies down and you focus on bars, Lux takes that round too. He's surgical wih that bytch, Jake.
Yea...I can't question anyone's opinion on this one...both had excellent moments and durations of great crowd momentum.
Luxx is just SOOO slick with the words at times I think we don't really appreciate his ability fully. His stage presence is to be studied by I would even say some mc's...it's tough to 1 up....but I think clips gave it a respectable go at it. Good ent. either way.
