Doesn't this invalidate the console? It'll increase sales but they already gimped the technology to make room for Kinect financially. Removing it leaves you with the same gimped technology, but without the reason for it (Kinect). So....
Afloat? I don't think the Xbox division was gonna go under. Worse case scenario was getting spun off or sold, but not getting the
Depending on the price, they can possibly make the split in America closer as far as marketshare with the PS4, but it's still a wrap everywhere else for the system.
Personally, I'd still be skeptical of MS plans with Xbox going forward now because they've shown their cards as to what they are trying to do and I'm not down for it. While Spencer was a GREAT hire IMO, the suits at MS have shown what their plans are with the vision of the Xbox brand in the future and I don't like it.
Actually if anything they're trying to undo the damage that mattrick did. Imo that shows more commitment than just letting the system flounder.
