My mom brought home a LL album from Walmart when I asked her for a drag-on album.
:mjcry:

Your Mom knew Drag-On was trash

He wasn't THAT weird, he was just himself, unlike all these clones out now. There were much weirder rappers out throughout history. The only "weird" allowed now is fakkitry and drug addled stupidity. Biz Markie (RIP) was a star with several classic songs. Son Doobie was a porn addict later porn star. Shock G put on a fake nose and rapped as a made up character.

Add MF DOOM, ODB, Busta. All odd fellas but genuine and talented.

I mean..

This is funny in hindsight until you young cats see just how weird the old heads who started rap were in the 70s & early 80s

LL by comparison was way more normal than say

Afrikkaa Baambatta
GrandMaster Flash & the furious five
Whoodini

They were trying to dress like the Rock guys and looked like a bunch of Rick James clones on acid wearing leather pants and Halloween costumes

Run DMC , LL , BDP, NWA and the guys that came out in the mid-late 80s brought balance to the force and normalized Street shyt
Dapped/Repped

the problem with that quote is canibus ended up with no fans. :yeshrug:
