Dudes were pressured to be something they not, and it traumatized a lot of people.
Yes..New Yorkers. Because they didn't have this courage back in 96.Dudes were pressured to be something they not, and it traumatized a lot of people.
In what way can you even compare the two smhIt really Demystified him to me, he was basically a fully black drake
In what way can you even compare the two smh
Ohh okay. Gotcha. His shyt was hard before Death Row tho. Thuglife existed before DR.I was referring to his music , he wasn’t on that gangsta shyt
Ladies and gentleman did wat a book looks likePac was bigger than rap music to be real. Pac is one of the only rappers to have endless quotables that aren’t even from a song, but from a random interview. New stories about Pac’s life come about in random interviews everyday. You never see new interviews on YouTube revealing new stories about Biggie, Big L, Big Pun, Eazy E etc.
Pac was like a modern day black ghetto Jesus. And just like Jesus, he came from an impoverished background the bottom of society hung with the undesirables even though he might not have been one of the worst of them, himself. Jesus hung with lepers, prostitutes etc. but was not one of them. Just like Pac hung with killers, drug dealers and gang bangers but wasn’t one of them. And he admitted that. Pac is definitely GOAT status. Literally no rapper other than Pac could make songs like “Keep Ya Head Up”, “Pain” or “Dear Mama”. Pac is one of the only rappers that could make grown men cry. He’s on a Michael Jackson, Bob Marley level. To some folks, Pac was on his way to a Malcolm X or MLK level if he wasn’t already for the youth. People in ghettos across the world love Pac. You think they don’t slap Pac in then favelas in Brazil? Put some respect on that man name.
People take rap music too seriously. To have actually lived out your rhymes as a gangsta rapper is self snitching. The Boondocks exposed that. Even if you’re crimes are past the statue of limitations, it’s extremely poor taste to glorify doing some of the fowl shyt that is constantly glorified in “reality rap”. Jay Z still bragging about allegedly selling crack in his own community in the 80’s at 50 years old when he’s one of the richest men on the planet is just cringe.
Most rappers tell the stories of people who they lived in close proximity to in the hood. You gotta remember that rap music showed the world what it was like in the hood. If it weren’t for rap music, you wouldn’t really know shyt about Spruce St in Compton, 41st side of Queensbridge, Hillside of Vallejo, Zone 6, Houston Fifth Ward, Port Arthur, Texas, East 99 and St Clair in Cleveland, Marcy PJ’s, O Block or anywhere else unless you were from any of these places or lived there before, keep it a buck.
And LL just mad that people laughed at 14 shots to the dome or don’t even remember that version of LL while every street nikka worships Pac. Even though both Pac and LL were both actors and rappers, Pac is the face of Thug Life while LL was always looked at as more in the same lane as Will Smith but very slightly less corny than Will.
Yes..New Yorkers. Because they didn't have this courage back in 96.
Pac said he wasn't trying to be like a "Jesus* & was a undedog.Didn't pac pretty much say this over 2 decades ago?
1. Said he wanted to be a Poet..
2. Pac always said the role of Bishop changed him...
Add those 2 together and LL is saying the same thing w/ a lil bit shade/hate in his heart.
Non Pac fans always try to clown Pac for not being a "real" thug, or street dude, but non (or not many) of these guys did what Pac did.
The same guys that clown Pac (the same Pac) that confronted 2 white guys for fukking w/ a black man, are prolly the same ones calling out local street guys for not touching cats in Zimmerman after shyt like that goes down.
Pac did what most of want them to do.
Well, he hasn't arrived in Heaven and I know he's not in Hell, so
*Didn't read thread yet*
This sounds stupid. Dudes fukked with Pac of his word, spirit, truth. Etc.
He already had a male fan base, street cred, etc. Listen to his interviews. One Pacs things was to balance the fans to get more females as opposed to having more males.
Anybody that can't tell me what "Thug Life" meant, I can't fukk with you.
I remember when LL first said this shyt & fell back. Why we bringing up this shyt?
he definitely speaking for himself @ the least
I remember when he dropped ‘14 shots to the dome’
almost finished his career
then he went back to making music that was more suited to him
I imagine tupac like everyone else was just adjusting to the times
'92-93 there was a MAJOR shift toward “gangster” rap for lack of a better expression
hardcore street rap existed before that of course but during this time a lot of rappers steered toward that style of music
Exactly. When Pac was dissin NY Jay Z and LL were quiet AF.
Nikkaz talk alot of shyt but that's after I'm gone....
Thats right...being G'd up was Westcoast living back then. If you were square, maybe it was hard but to me? You gotta prove you can out fight me. So that didn't mean nothing. I wasn't no THUG...I just did what I wanted..I changed grades, had cheerleaders cheat in school, threatened crips/bloods, took games, etc...didn't matter.Nah, the "thug life" image in general. Cats hardly ever smiled back then, even after getting rich. Death Row Pac had dudes everywhere feel like they gotta fake that thug shyt to make themselves visible back in the 90s.
