The american Living Wage should be an "Adult/Independent" Minimum Wage.
I am suggesting something i have personally never heard anyone else suggest. but i assume someone else has probably thought of this.

16 yr old dependents shouldnt be making enough money on an entry level job to rent an apt, pay bills, pay a car not(or public transit pass), and put food on the table. thats silly.

So to keep it simple.

Two minimum Wages
#1 Minimum Wage for Adults (25 yrs of age + and Independent Children to young adults 14 yrs of age to 24).

#2 Minimum Wage for Dependent Children/Adults(old heads, handicapped, mentally ill, etc)

Yep, this means you can be working on the same job flipping the same fries and some older grown adult independent person that no one else is claiming on his/her taxes/no one else is housing, can make more then you do at 16 yrs old as a dependent living with your mother and father.

Will that take some mentally getting use to? YES. but once we get use to it. it will make sense.

the #1 minimum wage is = to the Living Wage in whatever city you're in.

Here's the other thing. to keep everyone from moving to the sexiest city since they know they can get by based on the new law. this one monkey wrench goes in. There are a limit to how many minimum wage jobs each company can have per city. If they are at capacity you cant get a minimum wage job there. So either you have to get a job making more then that(which you have to qualify for) or you have to go to another city, state where they have room for you.

Sounds like some sim city shyt :skip:
you're probably right. because its so structured. people in america like to think there's little structure and anyone can win. the truth is, thats not reality. anyone cant really win. there are only so many winning slots. once those are filled up you cant win. and you have major corporations and people with money /influence buying up those extra slots to boot.

so what is left for the majority of the country? crap. so how do you solve that equation? #1 you go after the top obviously. but while you do that "nuccas still gotta eat B" So you have to do something for right now that can slightly change people's lives for the better from the broke class to the middle class.

some people will say if they have 2 minimum wages. small businesses will just hire the dependent kids. not so fast.

kids have to go to school for 6 hours a day minimum. who's going to work the register/fries, drive thru from 8 7 am to 430 pm? school kids need time to do their homework. who's going to work the 9pm shift to midnight(if you stay open that late?) those are independent/grown up spots. now granted summer time comes around all bets are off. they may only hire seasonal kids and not adults. but it wont matter cause the adults will already have jobs making a living wage before hand.

and you make laws that say you always have to have an adult on hand. you cant allow 2 16 yr olds run your pizza hut til midnight.so there's one more job for an adult. so one teen and one adult might run the place if you only have room for two spots.

Wages should reflect the work done, and be subject to natural market forces such as supply and demand.
So if thats true for employee wages. what about Profits for those up top(owners/stockholders(if public))?

You are assuming you or I have a stake in a private companies profits... we dont. Nor is it our business as long they operate within the law.

As for the underlining issue, I'd like to see the cost of living and ongoing inflation addressed. Not wages. Inflation will eventually eat the raise increase and you will be right back here, demanding a wage increase. Its not a fix.

didnt say it was a complete fix. its apart of the fix.now obviously you could fix inflation and that would do the same thing. but yes it is my business what business are bringing home in profits. i dont care what the "LAW" says. if you're using loop holes where the law cant reach you. the law is insufficient. which means we need more laws to cut out more loopholes. so one way to do that is for me to peak into your profit margins. sorry to tell but the idea of you owner making hand over fists profits every year while your employees starve will never work well for this nation. maybe 100 years ago you could pull that off without a hitch. thats no longer the case. So to stop riots in the streets from happening in the near future. i'm going to tell you, You can not make insane profits while your workers starve. PERIOD. sorry mr and mrs free market. now that doesnt mean you cant make a lot of money. but you have to distribute that profit around a bit better then is being done today.

and lets this be clear. i will never be for 100% FREE Market. unless you can find me a nation filled with 100% Ethical Moral People.

i still will have it setup where ballers can ball and lazy people wont have much of nothing.

BUT... i would never allow my nation to run an economy where ballers are balling way outta control while hard workers are more or less starving and barely making ends meet. sorry, not gonna happen in a nation i build.

What if I told you, regulations make it all possible. :merchant:

"You can not make insane profits while your workers starve." :ld: Actually you can... and they do. Employees voluntarily agree to do a number of task for an agreed upon amount. I see no evil.

But rather than go back and forth over subjective terms. Lets agree that there are no solutions, and what we need to do is find the best trade off. :ld:

i see you're talking about what is. i'm talking about what COULD be under my own control.

and yes i know REgulation exists. not enough of it in certain situations. to much of it in others, and fake regulation in a lot of situations.

I have found that its easy to create societies and economies in ones head at zero cost, using abstract people that perform better than reality. We must be cautious and not read too much into these theories though. :usure:
