You're acting as if the majority of people didn't already know about allegations of corruption and coverups in the LAPD before all this. Dorner killing innocent people and random cops [who may not even have been one of the corrupt ones he spoke of], in no way proves/validates those allegations. Did he put it in the national spotlight? Yes, via his manifesto, but he didn't really expose anything other than his personal experiences. And he certainly didn't have to kill anybody to draw attention to the issues he brought up [especially considering the fact that he was an disgruntled ex-cop who wanted to expose the truth to the public, and not just some random complaining guy who just got pulled over more than he cared for].
And you're acting like incompetent cops haven't been in the national news for shooting innocent people before [or shooting people without justification], and as if that won't continue to happen.
The bolded part is ridiculous. I don't even think you know what you were trying to say with that. I think you just added it on there to make your post sound profound.
The reason things won't change isn't because of people who refuse to support a cold-blooded killer who thought every murder he committed was justified, just because he got fired [whether or not his firing was fair], or who are intelligent enough to see his actions won't change how cops operate. Cops die fairly often as a result of gunfire from criminals; Dorner wasn't so special other than the fact that the country knew he was an ex-cop who was
specifically targeting cops. He killed a few cops and it wasn't even in the double digits; he didn't blow up a police station and kill dozens of cops. He wasn't picking off dozens of random cops DC Sniper-style. He did nothing really memorable as a murderer, and he'll be remembered more as an ex-cop bent on revenge than anything else [and of course, as a hero by a few trolls and idiots].
The real reason why things won't change is because people look at violent and angry persons like him as some genuine solution to racism, corruption and injustice, even though they're only committing the acts for purely personal reasons. Another reason is because nobody likes to do anything anymore; they just like to watch people do something then live through that person, like so many people are doing now.
