:ohhh::mindblown:

Nobody has mentioned this but it looks like the answer is right there on the cover art for us… Notice that couch is for 3. Who would fit in that middle seat? They look like they’re dressed up for a funeral and are sitting at a wake. And look at their facial expressions...

Thats some solid insight actually

If true :wow:

I love how people are forgetting 9th literally been on some "record mogul" shyt since they're post breakup albums (post MS).

Rapsody is the only one to hit, but, 9th obviously wants to be "more than Little Brother."

Listening
Minstrel Show

are classics but the rest of their material is solid to great without 9th plus their solo careers.
This. He was that way even before. When the listening was recorded he was doing at least as many beats for other members in the crew. He probably did twice as many beats for Legacy. Once he did Threat he was onto bigger personal goals imo. He even had a label before Jamla, and another duo he produced almost exclusively for called The Allies during the same time TMShow was being recorded. He even got them signed to Interscope/Dre but they broke up.

I am not knocking him for it, but if you watch his interviews it’s pretty clear he looks at everything as if The Listening was a classic that he helped make, and that it was the beginning of his personal resume in hip-hop. Once he produced for Jay and Destiny’s Child, I honestly think he was way more interested in his own career path than LB.

I’m not knocking him for that BTW. But the LB era of listening was what got him his start, and I think that’s how he looks at it.

Also notice 9th’s voice is on various skits and interludes on The Listening, and his voice isn’t once on TMShow.
