Literally no one knows what the word "literally" literally means

Literally is meant to denote the opposite of figuratively. They are bringing you to reality when they say literally, friend so they can help assist friends in understanding that they are not using a figure of speech.

Words gain meaning by how people use it, even if we deem it to be the incorrect use. If it is used in the wrong long enough and by a lot of people, it becomes a new meaning.

It's how flammable and inflammable mean the same thing.

That being said, "ironic" and "ironically" are usually never used in the correct way. People essentially substitute a form of coincidence or bad luck with irony.

yep words mean what we want them to mean. and all my friends and that damn Alanis Morissette song just use irony wrong
