“I was on the road, on tour at a real young age and then I did one album and blacked out on the album,” he explained to HipHopDx.com. “Lyrically blacked out, but I was just there. I don’t even remember how I got it done and what studio I did it in.”
Redman suggests that this drug-fueled haze associated with that time of his life accounts for why he’s remained so hesitant to even revisit the album. He explains, “I was doing a lot of drugs on Dare Iz A Darkside … I swear, I have not played Dare Iz A Darkside damn near since I did it. Seriously! I was so lost, I was so fukked up during that album.”

Meanwhile in my opinion Darkside was psychological healthy for him.
Dr. Trevis cleanses and reprogrammed his mind at the start.
Did anyone not like that first track off muddy waters because it sampled the Roots sections which we all heard first?
Muddy waters is dope. But because of that sample I was like nah.
Obviously it's still a dope track. But how strong I felt about biting even back then...which I'm sure he didn't mean I was like hmmm.
It's scary man.
Redman has the power to destroy and rebuild rap with the power of only him, Eric and Keith Murray.
But he keeps dropping jackboi beats videos and is skydiving alot.
And promising us Muddy 2 for so many years.
I'm not hating. Just scared man.
Scared that he won't follow up.
And to me it's not that hard.
Just bring Eric, Keith, his own beats, Krs, Em, G Rap, Das Efx and that's it.
I hope he drops Muddy AND Darkside 2.
I hope he bring back his horrorcore. And inspiration.
