Will never understand the hype for cOnjuring. Grown men was talking about being shook from it and its like the other 1000 haunted house movies.

No such thing as a PG-13 horror movie in my book, I dont care.

It's because Wan knows how to build tension and create characters that are easy to care about os when they're in jeopardy, it's easy to feel for them and want them to be safe. Unlike a friday the 13th movie where a lot of the characters are unlikable and you're just watching to see how they die, kinda want these characters to be safe

Movie still sucked to me as it did not bring anything new to the table/genre. We hve decades of haunted house flicks, anyone who has seen more than 5 horror movies could predict everything that happened in this flick.

For example It Follows was a good movie to me as it was a fresh approach, so while not scary it was enjoyable. Conjuring was OD hyped and didnt bring anything new to the table.

I think it can be both something that brings something new but also does something tried and true very effectively. I'm not going to knock him for doing something tried and true if he does it correctly and effectively. Ever. It follows is dope as well by doing something new and being effective. There are horror flicks that do new stuff too but they're trash

Of course, and conjuring sucks because it wasnt effective in doing a tired ol genre nor did it attempt to bring anything new.
