They don't matter because a dude that put in no work for the cause should not speak on it...and MORE SO..there are so many more words that I would snap on somebody calling me than nikka...****** for one..or bytch, faq, p*ssy, Failure, Idiot...so on and so on...We took a derogatory word and made it useless and people are still acting like it is hurting us to have a word lol...end rant...Why don't they matter?

But I do know for a fact that Harry Belafonte DOES have a history of fighting for progressive change, Civil Rights and Humanitarian causes.

It's understandable. People may change the context & use of a word, but it's original meaning will never be forgotten or erased. He's use to the word being a hurtful, demeaning word used by white people.
