Speaking as a Black woman in regards to Black men and Black women who "date out" it's been my experience that *most* people who date outside their race aren't on any bs. They just date whomever they find attractive and that's all there is to that. HOWEVER, there's a segment of "swirlers" who are anti-Black as all hell and will act as if dating a Black man or Black woman is beneath them, and will degrade and devalue Black men/Black women, talking down on them like they're trash, while singing the praises of other races and listing all the reasons those others are "better." Those are the types that will act as if their unemployed, uneducated, bad built, knuckle dragging troglodyte is heads and shoulders above any Black man/Black woman simply by virtue of being non-Black. The type that will see the most basic Chad or Becky in existence and hype them up like it's their job but then turn around and downplay a truly gorgeous Black man or Black woman, on some "I guess they're okay if you like that type." That's the mess that I can't stand. The only other time I side eye is when they date/marry someone who is racist (ex. Tamera Mowry). Other than that, I'm unbothered about other people's dating choices.

In regards to Lio, he seems like a good guy who is genuinely in love so if he's happy then I'm happy for him and wish them the best.

Nothing wrong with marrying outside your race as long as you're not constantly shytting on your own race as if you're trying to prove a point. Very sure I mentioned something similar in another thread, but a lot of interracial relationships tend to step from being dissed on Valentine's Day in 6th grade, and that person ends up carrying that shyt well into adulthood. These people will go to the ends of the earth let you know they don't date black women/black men, yet you never get the feel that they actually love the (insert race) person that the are actually with. Real shyt? Nah. Well at least in a lot of parts of the country. On the east coast, like from parts of northern VA up to probably New York, shyt is what it is. In racially diverse areas it’s not a thing. And from what I could tell, it’s not a thing in Cali either.
