Monique-ColemanLLF.jpg

just because she kinda fits the looks, doesnt neccessarily mean that she can play the part.

Keke Palmer has been a TLC fan since for as long as she can remember. Now, according to Vibe, the 19-year-old Chicago native will get her shot at representing one of her favorite singers in VH1's upcoming TLC biopic.

Joining Lil Mama, who will play Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, as well as Drew Sidora, who has been cast as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Palmer becomes the third and final member of the TLC biopic cast, which begins filming in Atlanta, Georgia next month.

No stranger to a recording studio, Keke got her love for music from her mother, who was a background session singer and would often take Keke and her older sister, L’Oreal to the studio while she recorded. She also released her first studio album*So Uncool in 2007.

Palmer's most recent music-related film gig was last year when she played in the musical comedy*Joyful Noise*alongside Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. She also plans on releasing her next album this year, which will be self-titled.

Ok now that I realize this is gon be sum old bootleg straight to tv bullshyt,I expect nothing less than the comedy of the MC hammer story,or Michael Jackson played by Flex shyt:laff:....I'm watching for nuthing but the comedy that I might get out of it,nikkas got mad when Hakem played Pac on the MC Hammer story but I know what to expect from this now so I ain't even mad about Lil Mama:salute:..ill just let the comedy ensue, cuz none of these picks are to be taken seriously,Drew Sedora the meagan good update as tbox?Keke Palmer who don't got no kinda baby hair? You got Crazy,Sexy,Cool and so far only lil mama fits her part:russ:....not that I wouldn't smash Keke Palmer but Drew Sedora is the sexy one with a voice nuthin like Tboz and who I've never seen be hood in anything, how can she be Tboz?...Keke supposed to be the sexy member of the group all the nikkas wanna fuk:aicmon::laff:she just don't got that vibe

This thread took a helluva turn with Lil Mama now bein the most fitting pick:leon:,but I don't mind looking at the other two so its cool...Drew Sedora thick well built azz gon play Tboz:laff:I pray for a Mack10 appearance in this shyt, and Suge where Chillli givin out lapdances at Deathrow....if they wuz just lookin for musicians they coulda called Solange up to play Lefteye or Tboz, she coulda pulled off either and woulda had more of a resemblence...got the free spirit vib of left eye, deeper voice and cool vibe of tboz...maybe Matt Knowles does actually care about her and gave her the :wtb: about doin it,or she has sense...Keke shoulda turned this shyt down too...and @Wacky D I thought Drew Sedora wuz a fictional person too,and no she wont pull. It off probaly but shell look good, she wuz fine as hell on The Game

I love Solange and she's "different" in a lot of ways, but she lacks that edginess that Left Eye had. Left Eye did a lot of things that made her appear to be "crazy" from the outside looking in, but in her mind there was always a method to the madness whether we agreed with it or not. She displayed irratic behaviour, but also showed a level of genius that was admirable.

Lil Mama has that same attitude when it comes to doing things that we look at as "crazy", or "irratic". Her debut album wasn't as bad as some would like to think, but it's safe to say she hasn't displayed a level of genius like Left Eye yet. This may be her chance to do so though.

If you know anything about Left Eye then you'd know she had it rough growing up and also had a lot of issues while in the public eye as a young adult. Lil Mama's story is similar in terms of having to struggle, so she may be able to channel that and tap into emotions that someone like Solange who grew up very comfortable may not. All of that stuff matters when it comes to acting out the role of someone else and actually trying to become that person.

Left Eye was also the driving force behind TLC and was very vocal about how they were being done wrong behind the scenes at a time when all the odds were against them because there was no Youtube, Twitter, etc. so if you spoke out against Major labels back then you ran the risk of being placed on the shelf and never heard from again, but she prevailed. That's something Lil Mama can also relate to IMO, because one thing I find interesting about her is regardless of how much hate she recieves on a daily basis she still manages to steadily get work which is a accomplishment in itself and a testemant to her business savy. She came into the game by herself unlike a lot of other femcees who were under the wing of their male counterpart (i.e. Lil Kim, Foxy, Da Brat, YoYo, Queen Latifah was a well known associate of Naughty by Nature at their peak and even Lauryn had Wyclef, etc.). Even at the time Lil Mama was coming in the game you still had female artists like Young B who was under the wing of Webstar still following this formula and even after that Nicki Minaj reciaved commercial success due to her Lil Wayne co-sign. Who cosigned Lil Mama though? Nobody, so she has to be doing something right.

Anyway to wrap it up there is a lot of similarities between Left Eye and Lil Mama in my eyes. No one will ever completely fit the role for Left Eye though because she was so unique and didn't play by the "rules", but I think Lil Mama is the best option out there right now. I think a lot of people in this thread are also forgetting Left Eye was a Tom-Boy just like Lil Mama, so we don't need a beauty queen (even though she was beautiful and I had a major crush on here as a youngin; which is why I'm taking time to comment THIS extensively) to play Left Eye we need someone who is a little quirky like she was to really deliver a good performance.

I had a crush on tboz starting out and left eye once the condoms started comin off the eye:whoo: and u realized she didn't have a eye missing:russ:...but tboz is rough to and they got a beauty queen playin her,she wuz a tomboy too, drew sedora sexy azz playin her completly goes to waste, tboz wuz a tomboy too, they all dressed like that comin out.

And I thought left eye had a good upbringing but her father wuz just strict which caused her to rebel?I would think Solange could relate to that a little,u know Matt Knowles seem strict and beyonce act like she gotta be perfect all the time as if Matt got sum Joe Jackson tendacies lol....Solange kinda rebeled and got pregnant and u see her now she is different and seems cool, not always tryna be perfect....haven't seen crazy tendancies from Solange too much but she keeps it real, went off on critics/cacs for not liking brandys album

@solangeknowles And ivy league credentials don't give you any insight on "grading" a rappers body of work...when you've had no access to the REAL culture.

@solangeknowles There are SO many gifted writers who truly understand. Who didn't get hip to R&B & Hip-Hop via the crossover artist of their childhood.

@solangeknowles Just hire them please ,so you can stop insulting peeps knowledge.

@solangeknowles So you can stop acting like it just popped off last year for R&B. Like it just got interesting and experimental.

@solangeknowles So you can stop praising every rapper who raps over a trap beat, but can't form literate sentences & then you market it as some hip shyt.

That's my Solange:to: if she only had hips id throw beyonce in the bushes for her:blessed:.......but she is kinda edgy, all I done seen lil mama do is diss people and then back track and run on stage cuz she got to hype....she a lil weird and I guess maybe crazy or she really just got hyphy that day and couldn't control herself...but I feel u,lil mama is good enuff for this vh1 film...and she does get props for bein a female who did it on her own even tho she didn't do much rap wise...she came in in a bad era where u gotta be kinda fine.....but the fact I did have a crush on her is the only thing that makes the pick of lil mama so off as dumb as it sounds.

what really gets me is that most of these clowns in here complaining about left eye supposedly not being represented properly, dont give a flying f*ck about TLC.

some of these dudes were prolly the same ones throwing shade on their careers in that nicki minaj/t-boz thread.

i doubt that theyll even be mentioned, honestly.

they prolly show a clip of t-boz getting married to a husky red rappin-niqqa towards the end of the movie and keep it moving.
