Even if they would let him change back it becomes more complicated. Even making the so called "transition" in the first place can create complications and is not always smooth from the research I had to do on it. To go back is difficult and would leave them looking crazy and probably put them in a weird state of confusion, wanting to be a man again but becoming something in between the two because of the hormones and etc.. I hear you and I agree fully but it's not always that cut and dry either. What about kids born as hermaphrodites which is very rare but they exist too.
