Was the dad from Good Times a thug? No, but people respected him. We don't have enough depictions of good natured masculine men, that are not in the streets committing crimes. It's just streets, streets, streets, non stop. It's all a psy op. We need more balance with the shyt that our people see, because it's really leading our community down a bizarro gang land path that you don't see in other Black communities in the world. And we need to get rid of that disrespectful "square" term. Does any other community or race have a negative term for people not committing crimes? Good god.
