the whole "date your nerdy counterpart" argument is off-base and disingenuous. It's basically a strawman at this point "you just want an instagram model" "date your counterpart", etc etc.
First of all the dating game for men and women is completely different. Any black woman, nerdy or not, is going to have men from all races and shapes and sizes trying to court her as long as she isn’t horrifically overweight or sloppy. Most men aren't given that luxury and are gonna try to take what they can get. Don't know where this "instathot" argument came from. People on here make threads about lames flying out chicks and then not getting laid, Passportbros simping over mid 3rd world prostitutes in countries famous worldwide for its bombshells, that pineapple show where dudes embarrass themselves trying to court C-tier ratchets, and all these online dating studies. People are playing coy when it's basically spelt out in math and essay and video form that men are in a constant battle for women.
leading me to my next point - most men will drop whatever bullshyt requirement they have if the first woman that looked good to them walked by. Interest and personality don't matter. Maybe there are a few cornballs that would turn down a decent looking black girl for a mid-or-below white one, but I honestly don't know what reality these people live in where nerdy black guys en-masse are turning down cute black women like that. How can you say nerdy black men aren't checking for their counterparts with a straight face when we're constantly shown just how thirsty men can get and the lows they stoop for female affection? It's a nice strawman and a good way to gaslight and ignore any real gripes nerdy bm have but it isn't realistic.

I'm not saying nerdy black women are ugly, I'm saying there are quite a lot of nerdy black women that are overweight or below average in the face and a lot of the ones that aren't are going for white and Asian men or they have the same "type" that other attractive black women have. There's an imbalance. a lot of the nerdy black men getting boxed out of the dating game or being expected to settle aren't completely ugly. a lot are homely sure or don't know how to dress or don't have "swag", but they're expected to like for 2s and 3s when they might be a 4 or a 5.

There's also something else that's been bugging me about this whole argument. Homely/nerdy/goofy men from other races can date out of their league. Not all, clearly but enough for this to become a point. Why do black men have to conform? If you ask me, any man that has a good job, a stable life, and is not horrifically fugly or sloppy does deserve a dime’s attention. They're far better than most of the men these women let seed them up. There's a very attractive black woman right now that had a baby by some guy that growls at her. If you ask me, the wrong type of black men are getting rewarded in this community, and the wrong men get mocked and ridiculed for justifiably being upset while also either being left single or having to settle for average below. You won't find any song or tweets from beautiful black women praising Urkel or Carlton Banks, but you will find songs glorifying thugs and Urkel and Steve's names are used as insults. That alone is a huge issue. Urkel may be a bit of a cartoon, but in any other culture Carlton would have been a normal guy.
I know. talking about celebrities like they should be the benchmark is stupid, but I'm tired of that being used as an argument. Threads get made about them all the time. The fact of the matter is there are a lot of famous, objectively beautiful women in the BC ignoring black businessmen and successful doctors and politicians for rappers and athletes, but have no problem either marrying the equivalent from other races or the rappers and athletes making a mess of the community right now.Not a lot of rappers and athletes are good role-models either. They cheat, they beat, they leave them single mothers, and it doesn't stop with just one woman. Some of these guys have entire harems (Nick Cannon).
Tupac seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders but couldn't get any women until he turned himself into a criminal which ended up getting him killed. We've got a lot of young black men in that time and even in this era aspiring to be like him. Celebrity idolization is a problem. Unfortunately a lot famous beautiful black women in the Americas are either married to the aforementioned black men that built their whole career out of being rappers and athletes, white men (career and lifestyle and looks don't matter to them), or Hispanic men if they're in South America (career and lifestyle and looks don't matter to them).
Look at Meganthestallion, she I've seen her used as part of the "you want an Instagram model argument", but she's a nerd. she basically proves my previous points - that attractive nerdy black women don't have the same problems. that even though she's a nerd she isn't checking for other black nerds, and that she was comfortable laying up with some goofy looking cac. I've seen more famous black women lay up with goofy looking men from other races than I have of them with goofy black men, meanwhile, right off the top of my head, I can name drop like 5 decent looking famous black men with ugly or mid looking black wives.
Now what do you think that tells all the young black men out there? Serena Williams dated nothing but black rappers and athletes but marries a white website developer. Tyra Banks dates black rappers, athletes, the occasional actor, but the cac she married and had a baby by is a photographer. Bria Myles got with some literal who generic looking cac in her prime, but now that she's over 30 and has devalued her body with surgery she's ready to date black men, and they're not like the cac, nope, they're billionaire basketball players. I could go on.
For every 1 young black man that wants to be Neil DeGrasse Tyson or David Satcher there are 9 that want to be Future or Nick Cannon. Guess who's getting the better looking women.
