Cmon on ya'll ya REALLY thought Dr.Dre was about that life?

Did ya not see the pictures? That shyt was worse than Jay outing prodigy when he in the mike jack of Prodigy.

Most acts aint from the hood per se. Even cats claming Brooklyn and Harlem are not neccessirly hoods. There are soft, sub-urb parts of Brooklyn, Harlem, and Queens.

Hip Hop started straight on the streets in South Bronx one the roughest parts on america at the time. Made in the hood, by hood nikkas.

Watch the documentaries, Hip Hop and Crack on Rock Docs, you see the roots of hip hop run deep directly into the ghetto.

If u from jewish neighborhoods in canada you are NOT hip hop.
If you're from upscale neighborhoods you are NOT hip hop.
You can rap, be a rapper, whatever, but you will never be a hip hop artist.

Thats all

you forgot to mention that if you're from the hood, you are NOT hip hop.

you are hip hop if you actually put out hip hop music.

the problem is we have people such as yourself limiting hip hop's direction basically crashing it into the ground where it becomes everything outside of hip hop such as someone's image, what they do in their pasttime, their criminal rap sheet, and etc. do you know how many artists in the past decade have used the whole "i'm from the hood", "i been to prison", "i've sold drugs", "i'm a real gangster" calling card to get on to the scene and put their half assed music out then using whatever to get people to buy their music? it was so bad @ one point, people were buying records and supporting rappers for everything except the music such as 50 cent and game. "50 cent got shot 9 times, came from south jamaica queens, and sold drugs so you know his music is hot". "the game is a blood from compton, california that got shot from a drug deal gone wrong, buy his album". and these dudes couldn't rap nor make decent music to save their lives. it's about people that are interested in putting music out and good music @ that. not some half assed half hearted shyt just to get a check.

Lol. I hate to say it but all in all honesty hip hop is slowly slipping away from us. I never thought I would say this, but we are SLOWLY experiencing the same thing that happened with Rock N Roll. It's going to happen.

Years from now Kreayshawn, Kitty Pryde, Mac Miller, etc... will be of the norm

Organized Basketball was 'famously' invented in the suburbs of Massachusetts by a white man (probably a racist) named James Naismith in the 1800's, he literally laid the blueprint, so what chu sayin? if you aint from the burbs and white you can't really be a b-ball head? I mean, that is exactly what you are saying. the determinate factor in whether you are or are not "hip hop" is if you have a real passion for the music and the "culture" (whatever the hell that means), nothing else matters. if you genuinely love hip hop and feel deeply for it then you are hip hop, simple as that. most of the artists themselves aint even hip hop heads.
