I'm double HBCU but there are always white people or white profs that are kinda noobs and not used to being around so many black people. I'm pretty attuned to shyt and I've noticed these profs or students will gravitate towards me or other light skinned people if there are no whites around. In that kind of setting it's pretty obvious. Literally had this white guy follow me around for the first three weeks of law school like a lost puppy until he made friends. I figure if it's like that then there are other instances I'm getting favor where I don't see because it's not as obvious.
