I'm a yellow cat and I think it's definitely benefited me as fukked up as it is. :patrice:

-White people were always a lot less defensive as they would be more comfortable opening up to me as they would a dark skinned guy. I got punished in school less strictly than the darker kids but still worse than the whites. White people were very comfortable being friends with me and letting me in their inner circle I felt like.

-I think being an exotic looking light skinned helped me out when it came to attracting girls of all races. My first girlfriend was asian and a lot girls from other races found me attractive where a dark skinned brotha would have been tossed to the bushes. They weren't as hesitate to introduce me to their parents. Dark skinned girls practically FORCED the p*ssy on me and my presence alone had their sugar walls stuck on "waterfall".:whoo:

-Even though I was black, I was able to blend in a lot with my hispanic friends like I was a cousin/brother and I never got any of the racism I hear other black people face when interacting with hispanic people. I also made friends EASILY with indian and middle easterners in college since I looked like them where they were a lot more standoffish towards the darker brothas. Even the samoans and pacific islanders fukked heavy with me. Indian girls were throwing p*ssy in my direction since I was technically lighter than them.:skip:

The tragic mulatto myth does have a bit of truth to it and a lot of light skins can be emotional/sensitive because they can't cope with it well. It can be hard being light skinned when everything, especially in America is hardcore race/color based.

I honestly feel like being light skinned in like Purgatory in America. It's no where near as bad as hell(being dark skinned) but it sure as hell is no where near as good as Heaven.(Being white) I wish America wasn't such a racist country because over seas, I noticed people give a lot less of a fukk about skin color while placing greater emphasis on culture/behavior/class.

I'm also a lot more militant than my dark skinned brothas IRL because I don't want to be seen as "that" kind of black guy who doesn't want to be black. I noticed dark skinned guys will be more open about their love of white girls while I will be silent and keep my attraction to a white chick much more secretive and low key.

about to say :heh: I ain't got no privileges breh but after reading your comments , experience a similar thing as you. :skip:

Anyone saying that being lightskin-mixed gives us no prilivege is mistaking in my opinion. We are seen as less dangerous than the dark people. Less of a monkey. Don't get me wrong, I have been stop by cops and fought with a few on many many occasions based solely because I was black but I can't say that I experience the same degree of racism as my brother who if fully black.

Same thing is happenning in Haiti, for example, where there is a large bourgeois class that is very pale compared to the general population.

Dark skin men get longer jail sentences than light skin dudes and report more discrimination.
Exactly. It's not that light skin people live in paradise and never suffer racism. It's just that the dark black people get it worse.

There is no privilege. If anything it's a disadvantage because you're more likely to be tried if you're in the hood.
