Food & Liquor II is stronger overall from start to finish. It obviously has superior lyricism(though Nas brings it too), but I also much prefer it's more versatile themes/subject matter and I like the production a little more too. It has stronger peaks and more well-defined impact songs. The fantastic bonus songs and F&L II's lack thereof made LIG closer to F&L II than it would've been without them. I give em both 5 stars though. Both albums have that "So many good songs...I don't know which is my favorite" feel and have no fillers AT ALL.

Threads like these on The Booth are pointless though. Large amount of the forum are either unwilling to give Lu his props or at the very least won't do it against a "Legend" status emcee like Nas because they feel he is unworthy to be compared to them. I mean..there's still a sizable portion of the forum who won't even put Lupe in the top 15 all time LOL.

Why do lupe fans feel the need to tear NaS down:why:
Both are amazing artists that put out amizing lps. Clap for both of them. No need to tear an artist down to build one up. Even lupe himself would tell yall this. Enjoy both albums. If you like lupes better fine. But no need to rip esco to shreads.

:beli: You realize you can switch Nas with Lupe in that statement and be just as valid? Nas stans have been disgusting when it comes to disparaging any highly anticipated album since LIG came out.

I voted for F&L2 but I really have no idea if I'll still feel that way come the end of the year. LIG shines at what F&L2 lacks the most: genuine heart, emotion and building a connection with the listener and the artist. Nas really put himself out there on LIG in a way Lu has never really attempted save for a song here and there. LIG also has an overall theme and sound that it maintains throughout, save for the bonus tracks. But F&L2 is a display of superior talent that I haven't heard since...atleast Section.80, maybe even The Cool.

Honestly, I don't know which I prefer but probably just voted for Lu cause F&L2 is fresher. To be perfectly honest, Habits & Contradictions deserves to be in the discussion. And Kendrick might make this thread pointless.

Also, I want to say F&L II is getting better and better with every listen. I could easily see this being a bigger gap for me between the two albums in the future, but for I feel Life is Good's quality peaked for me around the third listen. It just has less replay value in my opinion. He's talking about less and his themes aren't as deep and varied. We'll see.

Life is Good

But Lupe album is dope though

With that being said I would love to see Lupe and Nas collab on a track someday. The message in their music is similar.

how the fukk are you guys comparing these two albums? :heh:

i haven't even listened to food and liqour 2 but it's highly doubtful he has a more soulful song on there than cherry wine. and that sucks because lupe fiasco is soft as it is. :krs:

I walked into this thread knowing it'd be laced with fukking idiots such as yourself who feel their opinion matters when they haven't even listened to one of the albums. EDIT: Your post prior to this reinforces your idiocy.

How dare this even be a thread. Nas made a classic and makes music that you can actually listen to. Lupe's music sounds socially dysfunctional and most of his fans have to probably force themselves into thinking they like it. SCUST :mjpls:

All around terrible post. You're like a living example of the first post(last paragraph) I made in this thread.

What Lupe fans are tearing Nas down? Nas and Lupe are the best emcees to ever pick up a microphone to me, and I have no issue with people preferring Nas.

I'm not sure yet, im still digesting FL2.

But I can't take anybody who throws shade on either album seriously, both are very VERY good.

Co-sign the bolded to the highest power. I really don't think Nas fans realize how bytch-like and bitter they look calling F&L II awful and not even close to LIG and shyt. You prefer LIG? Cool, but it's not even close? It's awful? Stop it. You look silly. Both albums are clearly extremely good.

I don't see many people who prefer Lupe/F&L II straight shytting on LIG like the other way around, but those who do need to cut it out too.

Never understood this..So you can like a album only once?

Some albums lack replay value. I don't feel this way about Life is Good, but a lot of rap albums especially do.

The primary reasons are because a lot of rappers aren't talking about shyt of substance and that gets old quick to anyone with a ounce of depth as a human being outside of a club/in the whip environment(and these songs tend to be replaced with the next hottest thing quickly anyway). They also to tend to be average to below average lyricists being carried by top notch production. These are the ingredients for an album having poor replay value throughout the years.

That's why to me an album like Blueprint 3 today sounds so fukking shytty while The Black Album still sounds amazing when it's 5 years older.

I have no personal issues with lupe or his fans, I would never individually knock one for liking him either. I'm just trying to figure out his appeal. I can offer a explanation for every artist I like while Lupe fans just :beli: and tell me I don't support real hip hop.

:beli: "they're tryyyyiinng to geeet up out the hooood luuuupe". *Waits to be told I don't get the meaning of the song* I get it, but its booty juice. :beli:
