Lex Luger won PWI wrestler of the year in 1997

Lex is the most underrated wrestler of his generation. He was always over, understood his character, and was one of the best body guys in the ring. People judge his career based on his WWF run where he was mismanaged & given awful booking and the dying days of WCW when he stopped caring.

In his prime Lex was an all-time great. His run with Harley Race was some of the best heel work of that era.

This post is all true...but by 97, in my eyes, he was washed.

If you wanted to give PWI award in his NWA/early WCW era i have no issue.

I had no prob with wwf luger either.

Wasn’t a Luger mark as a kid in WWF or WCW, but loved the Torture Rack and had his WCW action figure. Should count for something

The Torture Rack was such a go to if you was a kid wrestling in the playground
