They erected a statue in his honor, so why not let the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner give his former team a little preseason pep talk, too?
Auburn did Friday night in Atlanta when Cam Newton addressed the team.
Newton, who is playing in the NFL these days, talked to the Tigers before Saturday's 6 p.m. game against Clemson in the Georgia Dome.
Barrett Trotter and Clint Moseley followed Newton as Auburn's starting quarterback last season. Kiehl Frazier will be the third different starter in the post-Newton era when he takes the field Saturday night.
