I'm a huge supporter of black girls code and the innocence project so those were my first choices, but the healthcare one is so essential. The disparity between black people, especially women, and white people in terms of medical treatment is fukking infuriating

Like WTF in 2021. Thats besides the lack of medication, mental health resources, rehabilitation etc for us.

Yeah, bgc is fukking incredible and has so much potential to enact immediate change in the world considering how essential tech is for us to function and just how male dominant it is, even with Asians/indians in it, it's all furthering white ppl shyt tbh

Really goes to show how many avenues within life that black folk need assistance in. These are all great charities and there are plenty more trying to bring some stability, freedom, food, education, mental health education and career focused organizations.

It does bother me that we are lagging in so many industries and don't have the means to raise ourselves up due to focus. Great thread, as I've previously said.

Us lagging in a lot of industries is not because of focus, I'm not even sure how you can to that conclusion. Those who do the hiring aren't trhing to hire us. Look at all the companies that supported BLM. Guarantee you will only find a handful of us in positions that actually matter at those companies.
