Well a dive bar to me is usually a dark, no thrills place to drink, and can be a good place for pickups but doesn't have to be. Think pub but a bit more grim.

Just noting how dead malls are being repurposed.

Generally they're just boarded over and left as a wasteland or bulldozed.
