@Betty Draper You're Nigerian? In Naija or elsewhere (UK, US, Canada etc)?
I’m not willing to reveal that much about my background on here but I’ll give you a gist. Technically, I’m not really ‘authentic’ Naija. My dad is part Nigerian on his father’s side but I have a lot of Fulani blood (the Fula blood is not from Nigeria though). I’m British but I’ve been to Nigeria and several other West African countries in the past. I do consider myself Nigerian among other (African) groups. So, I tend to read Nigerian history, politics to stay connected.
What do you think of the killings in the Middle Belt between Fulas and indigenous peoples like the Berom and Tivs?
LOL did you ask me this because I’m Fulani? I don’t really identify with Fula culture I just claim the beauty. On the real, I have issues with the religion or to be PC the way they practice it.
To answer your question, I think I’m pretty objective about these things because I’m basically an African mutt, so I’m not tribalistic. I think it’s disgusting that these herdsmen are murdering people, particularly vulnerable ethnic miniorities. But tribalism is so embedded in Nigerian politics that it seems they are getting some sort of protection behind the scenes. Northerners will protect them just off the fact that they’re Muslims. Hasn’t this been going on for a couple of years now? Since Buhari took office? Buhari is the biggest tribalist, so they feel confident killing innocent people because they know they won’t be punished. Mainstream media barely covers this because who cares about a black ethnicity deep within the borders of Nigeria? It’s quite sad.
Fmr. General Theophilus Danjuma on the killings. He echoes your comments. But he massacred Igbos in the 1960s. No one has a monopoly of violence in Nigeria. Today it's my village. Tomorrow, you shall see your own aflame.
Has he ever mentioned his role in the civil war or apologised? I know it’s a taboo subject in Nigeria but I’m curious if he’s spoken on it these past decades.
I don't know. If pressed, he'd probably say: "It was war" or "No victor no vanquished" or "We did what it took to keep Nigeria together"
I don't care if he apologizes or not. The same people he colluded with to murder millions are now sponsoring the destruction of his ethnic group. My God is alive.

.
Yea, I'm proper Najia. Born in Port Harcourt to full Nigerian Parents (Dad is Ikwere, Mom is Igbo). Went to school in the Lagos region but reside in Abuja (when I go back to Naija). I'm pretty much between PH, ABJ and Lagos. Reside stateside (USA) as of now.
Your dad's dad is Nigerian but the rest of your heritage is mixed African.
Is the Fulani from Mali, Chad or Ghana?
What other African groups do you consider yourself a part of?
Cool. I thought you were in Nigeria full time. Fula side is from Guinea and Mali. That’s all I’m saying about myself. I’ve said too much already, I’m not trying to get me/my family doxed![]()
Lol, it's all good. I ain't like them other fools on here. Interesting combo though.
Nah, I do plan to head out to Naija full time in a bit. Just tying up some loose ends in the States.
