Tim Wise I have no issues with.
He doesn't just hang with black folks and pumping his fist in the air with his black friend from gender studies class. He has gone to all white audiences and given lectures without any "black cosigners" hanging on. I think he is legit. He has been doing it a long time too.
I don't know how to describe. Like the dude in OP, its just way too try hard and fake and I'm not surprised by the two faceness he is showing. Its a fad during their 20's and their commitment is very loose to say the least. Doesn't take much for them to do an about face and become "typical".
I'll be honest, I don't need some white guy to act all apologetic to me or shyt. Any of those dudes who go overboard with the self-deprecation, are suspect and make me think of people like the OP. There is a moderate level between being self-deprecating to the point of being
in hopes of getting "props" from black folks and not being able to admit there certain societal differences in how black people and white people live in this country. If you can at least do the latter and not act like a racist prick, I'm good.
