Connected was one of those albums I was proud to be up on EARLY. it was really cool to see it spread and get a fanbase. If I remember correctly, it leaked early. And I discovered it by pure accident. Started with "Nic's Groove" and went from there.

I was so excited to hear "Leave It All Behind". Then it came out and I thought it was trash. I haven't heard that album since 2007 or whenever it came out.

The problem is that
a) Leave It All Behind was much darker, less funky than Connected. And frankly, Nicolay dropped the ball on the production side.
b) Way too much singing, and Phonte is not a good singer. Connected was much better because most of the people doing the singing like Yazharah (sp?) and Brockington were actually great singers. Phonte, not so much.

I haven't heard a new FE song since then. Am I missing anything?
Exactly how I feel.

And honestly? Phonte's solo album was nothing spectacular either.

Despite FE's popularity, Justus League music as a whole fell the fukk off after LB broke up

Dj ChiefRocka - TT Delfonte - Pooh Vs Phonte
Pooh%20Vs.%20Phonte_zpsv4cwkpqq.jpg

New Tape from me and my comrade TT Delfonte. We decided to drop this joint after brainstorming and talking about one of our favorite Hip Hop groups from the early 2000's. If you don't already know Pooh and Phonte form 2/3rd's of the group Little Brother with producer 9th Wonder. This is our way of showing the emcees of the group love. So sit back while we take you on this journey with Pooh and Phonte. Sorry no trackilst on this one.

I know this is an unpopular opinion around here but I actually fukk with Leave It All Behind, Authenticity, and Love In Flying Colors just as much Connected. I like the fact that they sound so different from one another. If LIAB was more of a Hip-Hop sound I think people would be saying "it's not as good as Connected" IMO. There was no way to recreate that vibe and I'm glad they did even try.

I couldn't get into the last album that much though...

I think Phonte isn't the greatest singer nor rapper but he is the best that does both probably.

I listen to this album every summer. Absolutely beautiful.

The combination of Connected, Here and City Lights reminds me of a trip I took to Paris one summer, and all three are what I listened to for the whole week.

I loved those project before, but I really got them while I was there.

I remember how disappointed I was hearing Leave It All Behind for the first time. "Ain't no raps on this!" :mjlol:

It's a very good album in retrospect. Wasn't ready for that switch from hip-hop.

Need to get Connected on vinyl
