This fukkery was already happening even back in the NES days with Snake's revenge.

Developers (or western devs in general) need to keep their hands away from Japanese IPs :pacspit:

Look what fukkery they did over the years:

Mario and Zelda CDI - turned out to be one of worst video games of all time along with the shytty console. Nintendo shouldn't have lowballed Sony with this sneaky deal.

Silent Hill Downpour - could pass as an action game, but the horror elements fell flat and almost no scare factor in the game. Makes it a good game but a bad Silent Hill game.

Resident Evil: Operation Rac00n City - Don't get me started with this wannabe shooter shyt.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - The first game was alright and they actually get the story excel in the whole series. The sequels, however, fukked up badly and ended up a complete :trash:

Front Mission Evolve - :dahell: Square Enix was thinking by turning this SRPG series into another shytty shooter :mindblown:

DmC:Devil May Cry - Ninja Theory turned Dante into a fakkit ass emo punk.

The only western team I can think that did it right was Bioware with Sonic Chronicles. Majority of these devs have no concept or idea on what made these franchises so successful.

I always thought corny little school girls, metro sexual male characters, and stories no one cared about is what ruined jrpgs in recent time.

I'm talking about japanese IPs in general, not just JRPGs. Metrosexual males and underaged girls are always present in these games. The problem today is the oversaturation of these things and how they weabooized some franchises. (I'm looking at you, Tekken :demonic:)

It wasn't always that way. I came up in the time of Chrono Trigger and the OG Final Fantasy days. Back when the men were men and the women were women and the stories were actually interesting.

Westernization helped Megaman with Megaman X.

It was it going the eastern way with Megaman Zero that ruined it.

That was one small portion of the game where they had to dress up to infiltrate an organization. That's different from the :wrist:characters of today

Same as today really. There's usually one or two characters that are like that in any given game but people like to exaggerate to make a point.

there's hardly ever a bunch of:wrist: characters in a modern jrpg. Even the one person that is like that is usually weaved into their character arc.

Yeah... main characters in JRPGS have always looked girly more often then not

Three things fukked japanese games up tho...

What fukked anime up in the late 90s eventually hit the video game sector in the 2000s. Take a series like Soul and see how it went from toned down to just... cringe. Same shyt happened to quite a few series :snoop:

In the end I don't think they knew where to go with MMX. I do know that I stopped giving a shyt when they brought out MMZ. Trash designs.. and then all those pokemon/digimon rip off games they did :snoop:
